Super Meat Boy creator Tommy Refenes announced today at the GDC(Game Developers Conference) that they’ve got a Nintendo 3DS development kit and plan to release games for Nintendo’s latest handheld. Their future 3DS lineup is still undecided, though whether that lineup will include a 3D Meat Boy game depends on if they feel they can do it well. He also stated that the game won't be released on WiiWare.[/p]

That would be great, IF the keep the 3D in like 4 layers or so! That would make the game better looking, without disturbing the game play!

If SMB comes to the 3DS, it'll be the best game forever and ever. Specially if it comes with the level editor.

I would buy it again.

I don't think that source is the correct link.

I can't wait to see what Team Meat has in store for us next! But first I want the Super Meat Boy update!

For real. They said the level editor was coming "sometime in January", and now it's March. A SMB on the 3DS sounds like it could be interesting, but probably wouldn't be anything special except for new levels.

Extremely sorry for that. Fixed now.

If SMB isn't coming to the Wii, why would it go to the 3DS? The 3DS is obviously weaker.

However. If it somehow does go to the 3DS...

it didn't come out on the wii because it wasn't economically viable to do a disc release and wiiware has very restrictive file size limitations.

From the Visuals I have seen, the 3DS is just as or more powerful than the Wii.

Oh, that's why? I didn't know that part.

I hope the file restrictions are less strict on the 3DS.

No, but the shaders give you the impression of the graphics being better.

Well that's great. If they can get by without overly powerful spec, I like that better.

If it's a cart game, then the restrictions are 2GB until further along launch.

Downloadable, who knows.

Hmm... What is the size of Super Meat Boy on the 360?

Well on Steam it's 238MB large. I know on the Wii they had a hard cap of 100MB as a WiiWare game which was barely enough for a lot of the AWESOME music with the game. It's hard to see how they'd be able to cram all the stuff into a 2GB flashcart.

Ignoring the complete nonsense you just spouted, doyama, the hard restrictions of the carts are 8GB if necessary. 2GB is just launch size.
