    The controls have been modified as follows:
    - 'Y' activate F.L.U.D.D. eg. press 'Y' to hover if using the Hover nozzle.
    - 'SELECT' to cycle through the different nozzles.
    - The player now runs all the time instead of walking like in SM64 and SMS. Pressing Y has no effect on their speed.
    - You can now perform side-flips instantly, as in SMS.

    First off - AWESOME work so far Fiachra, beyond what I thought possible.

    Secondly, some opinions/questions:
    - I really would like to see sunshine sprites instead of stars - to complete the transformation.
    - Is the level Corona Mountain still off the table, now that F.L.U.D.D is included?
    - Is it possible to replace the castle and paintings as level entries with a more suitable 'hub'?

    To sum up: Great effort, Can't wait & Good luck with your finishing touches.

    pretty nice work, though now with fludd but...

    i was hopign that without fluud the many speial abilities found in SMDS would be put to good use. Metal wario, Vanish Luigi, fire Yoshi, flutter jumping, breaking big bricks with Wario, shell surfing, Mario's flight and float...

    1) Still undecided, I want to still contain some elements of SM64DS
    2) No, I'm going to try and include it as it should be possible
    3) Delfino Plaza has already replaced the castle and will be the main hub

    Fire Yoshi, Vanish Luigi and Metal Wario are being kept, Balloon Mario is not as it would give Mario too much of an advantage. To make up for Mario's much greater abilities, Luigi and Wario are both going to get a new power-up or special ability in addition to their Power Flower ones. Luigi's will be a power-up from SMG and Wario's will be one of his Wario Land transformations, I'm not saying which ones though. I'll do my best to ensure there's a balance in the different star missions that require each character's abilities.

    I'm aware it's been a long time since any updates, but I am still working on this project.

    I've nearly completed implementing Nokis and Piantas with a variety of colours for both sexes though unfortunately due to how they're implemented each level can only have either Nokis or Piantas but not both:

    i meant that they would be used to make up for fluud being gone. it's nice that you got fluud working, but i think that making use the sm64DS 's exclusive abilities would make up for the loss of fluud and other things, while keeping the remake very fresh. for example...

    area with doors requiring turbo could be broken with wario's fist or passed through with luigi's vanish ability
    water areas that have you using turbo to reach them could instead require a koopa shell for surfing.
    the areas requiring yoshi to melt that butter-thingy could be turned into ice for fire yoshi
    areas requiring rocket could be travelled with balloon mario or wall-jumping. same for areas where piantas chuck you, but i could see a cannon working depending on the mission.
    areas requiring hover could be bypassed with flutter jump, luigi's massive jumping abilities or even mario's wall jumping
    areas requiring you to shoot water at something or shooting those pig-balllons could be re-worked to use yoshi's eggs

    don't get me wrong, i'm happy you managed to get fluud working and i'm sure it was a lot of work, i just think this would've been a better, simpler option. but i'm not making the game. keep up the good work...

    oh, you didn't answer me, i think: why exactly is corona mountain impossible? looking over at what the level has i don't see anything that can't be done with sm64's assets.

    It's meant to be a sort of mixture of SM64DS and SMS so I don't want to just be using the exact same abilities in SM64DS especially since SMS's levels were designed with F.L.U.D.D. in mind. In a lot of cases SM64DS's abilities could be used instead but F.L.U.D.D. would work better eg. Corona Mountain: you could use Balloon Mario for the initial part where you have to navigate across those burning platforms instead of Hover Nozzle and for the clouds at the end instead of Rocket Nozzle and you could also just use Metal Wario to run across the lava unharmed but all of that removes most of the challenge.

    I'm not sure what you mean by this, the latest video with F.L.U.D.D. shows Mario as do several other videos; all 4 characters will be playable.

    re-watching the video about the fluud nozzles, i have to say one thing: i think you need to raise the rate that the nozzles consume water.
