Love this game, would love it to be "mobile"...

The original game was released for pc, and was killed by sega, but you can still get it..

Here

There were ports for mac, wii, and xbox, and looking at the quote from the xbox port page it says -

This is a port for the Xbox1 of bennugd-monolithic (a game development language). This port is aimed to run the Streets of Rage Remake v5 (other bennugd games may run if they are compiled with the modules used by SorRv5). It was possible thanks to BoMbErGaMeS Soft, SplinterGU for bennugd, the Fenix team, the people behind bennugd-monolithic and the SDLx libs by lantus

Looking about, the bennugd-monolithic source appears to be floating about

Here

It also appears to be the needed SDL as per the guide posted the other day for porting emulators to switch

Here

If the older consoles can run it, then "power-wise" switch should be fine, and looking at the info, does it look like this should/could be possible?

Thinking maybe someone will see this and do it quick, or tell me if it even possible and I will maybe try to see if I can get it working..

Thanks

they recently got the linux version running on retropie for raspberry pie, this doesn't sound too out of the realm of possibility.

You can follow along with status here (on the switch branch):

bgdc is building (no file support yet). Will have to get the whole thing building, then correct filesupport as well as b_crypt. Like I said, shouldn't be too bad.
You would be my god if you get this working...

Not really no. Between work, school, and NESalizer I haven't really had the time to look much more into this. I may get around to working on it more at some point but right now it's pretty far down my list of priorities.

Yo, just wanted to let you know that I got the PC version 5.1 running on my Android smartphone. So if you're still interested just let me know and I'll post some details.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

    lmao

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
