In the UK the uber stereotypical view of the Swedes is blonde, blue eyed, all girls are hot, guys all have 70s pornstar tash, sit in hot tubs and saunas, walk around naked 95% of the time, extremely open about sex and nudity, eat nothing but meatballs, talk like the Swedish chef from the muppets (herdy guerdy schmerdy lurdy), all houses bizarre modern designs, furnished entirely in minimalist IKEA stuff, neutral on world stage, swim through mountains of Nazi gold like Scrooge McDuck, Swedish banks only operate to allow people from elsewhere to avoid tax and launder money.

Heh. I barely think about Sweden. It's one of the 'lesser' countries in my mind.

When I do think about it, I think Irish people eating pancakes. The United States in my mind seems like a place filled with a bunch of fat idiots complaining about their government and Bush.

A common canadian stereotype is that you're all nice and jolly heh. I guess you proved that wrong calling us fat idiots, even if its true. xD

we were neutral in both ww1 and ww2. our government just sat and watch while the germans invaded both norway and denmark.

Back in high school when we had a couple families move from sweden one was from the north and the other family southwest.
They were very different from each other and only the one had even a hint of an accent. If they hadn't said something you wouldn't have known.
Anyways the redneck idiots didn't realize that as the son of an ambassdor the one kid took self defense classes to deal with exactly what they were redneck racist idiots out to beat someone up for no real reason (why we got along actually - the guy from sweden not the rednecks) and others from wherever he moved.

If you think of preconceived notions no I didn't really notice any as rednecks tend to think the same way about anything foreign to there whiteness... Geez those guys got their butts kicked.

Sweden is just too much of a nice country filled with nice people. Most of their labeled stereotypes are actually compliments.
