Hardware Static/flickering Problem ("Fat" PS3)

Every so often, I have noticed some flickering while I am playing my "fat" PS3. The static stops after system is shut off and am going through HDMI (Second HDMI cord I have tried thinking that was the problem). Should I be concerned about this and or is there a fix? Thoughts appreciated

if it looks like 'static' chances are its your tv.

edit: or HDMI cable.
