yes you do
do I need to put the FW.IMG file back on the SD card to boot RedNAND?

I can confirm DLCs work with RedNAND!Thanks! I am now in RedNAND and my USB games are working....now hopefully I can get the DLC to install for MK8![]()
You aren't going to break a console running this. If you "know enough to get by which could get me in trouble if I'm not careful" then you should know enough to not brick. You WILL not brick sysNAND without trying. If you try to brick sysNAND fuck yeah you can, if you aren't trying, it won't happen. Unlink your NANDs and don't be an idiot. This wasn't a release. Not at all. We did all of the work in a public IRC, releasing zips and other compiled things linking the source and other things. It was never "released" we just put it out there. It has a lot to offer. Y'know. That Brazilian method everyone is using right now, it more risky than installing games/shit with redNAND, by far. Install something corrupt and it bricks? You're fucked. If you have redNAND, guess what? You won't brick. Getting to redNAND has literally no risk of bricking. The only people I think can "brick" their sysNAND and/or redNAND are the devs, not the end-users, it'd take some titles that you made yourself, that are FUCKED to do it, or messing with wupclient enough.
TL;DR: You aren't gonna brick, quit bitching. There is a lot of shit you gain from using redNAND.
btw this isn't just for you, im just done with listening to people whine about the main idea of it being not worth it and risky

Wait for 10-15 seconds.UGH...Now I am getting the "Welcome to redNAND!" screen and it's freezing there....I got into redNAND twice but can't get back in....UGH!!

I was not offended, it was just a message to a lot of people, lmao. I was really pissy last night and I apologize lmaoPlease don't be offended by what I said. You guys have done a great job getting us RedNAND. I wouldn't even know where to start. I am just worried that something could happen without it being intentionally done and brick my console. If you say that can't happen, then that's awesome and I may have to reconsider installing this. But, what could I actually gain? The only thing that I can think of, because I have no reason to pirate anything, is I could put all of my disc games on my USB drive, which is nice I will admit. I don't really see a point in installing just for this. If there is something else I can do, I would love to know what but I haven't seen anything at this point in time. I really do appreciate you guys and your work though. Waiting for the SALT release just seems like a better idea for me as a personal opinion. Don't take this a bitching eitherKudos to you and your team.
Is there a script yet that makes a patched fw with sigpatches but not redirect to redNAND? To have the exploit as a channel? I guess it wouldn't matter because once you turned the thing off the nonlegit channel wouldnt load from sysnand due to the startup check. But can you replace the fw.img on the sysnand with wupclient? Will it let you overwrite a thing that you are currently in?
UGH...Now I am getting the "Welcome to redNAND!" screen and it's freezing there....I got into redNAND twice but can't get back in....UGH!!
I didn't know about this. But even if the firmware was patched it would also prevent booting?Hopefully I'm wrong about this, but I've heard that having an unsigned title installed to sysnand prevents booting (i.e. bricked system.) I'd be extremely cautious with trying to test this yourself unless someone reliable can state otherwise.

what about the sysnand title? If you installed an unsigned title to your usb drive and started from sysnand it will say you cant start because of some nnid error.
what about the sysnand title?

Oh, so you wouldn't be able to permanently replace the fw.img in the actual system with wupclientIt's important to keep in mind that the firmware isn't patched during a cold boot.
if you did install an unsigned title to the NAND, I believe you would be unable to boot back up to apply the patches.
