Gaming SSBB won't find opponents

I was so excited! I finally got a TV and a wireless router, and I got my Wii online!

The first thing I did was put in Brawl and look for a match... which I couldn't find.

No matter how many times I try, i can't find any opponents. I go to basic brawl, select my character, and wait for the countdown to run out, and I never find anyone. EVER.

Am I missing something, or has Brawl suddenly dropped in popularity and i missed the memo? My Wii hasn't been hooked up in months, so i wouldn't know.

This was happening to me the other day as well. Dunno why though, do you have an original copy or a backup?

From what I know, all of nintendo's servers went down which could be why you couldn't find anyone.

It's a real version, cd and all.

I was able to spectate other people playing, but I just couldn't find opponents
