ok ok ok ok, i don't really care enough to give details but i'll say the following and i promise i'm not lying :

1. govanify is full of shit and doesn't seem to know what he's talking about. if he'd actually "reversed it in 2h" he'd know better than to say what he's saying and to use tweets and quotes from an interview as proof (lol)
2. ninjhax does not at any point get unsigned code to run in kernel mode. there's really nothing more to say about that.
3. doing region free on the 3DS does not require kernel mode code exec. again, not much more to say about that.
4. if a part of hbmenu's code actually signified beyond the shadow of a doubt that i've been lying about the nature of the exploit do you seriously think i'd have been dumb enough to a) make it so obvious and b) make hbmenu open source at all ? if so i'm a little insulted.

to sum it up in one word :

please

....hhhm i had heard a rumor that ssspwn does indeed gain kernel access, but idk tbh.....ill leave that to the more technically minded :P

Well, if even the Gateway-based CFW wasn't released, let alone a new one ssspwn-based...
Anyway the biggest problem is that stupid game as requirement.

just wanted to clarify something. govanify doesn't even know, how a toaster works, so how would he know how to hack a 3ds? everthing he ever released was officially posted by someone else first or stolen from a real 3ds dev

He just tweet

To GORTESK: I know how a toaster works, thanks. Also: http://t.co/kHnGcUKCT9 I KNOW I SAID IT WILL STAY PRIVATE BUT W/E

Apparently you are just wrong. The undeniable proof is right there. That's a bonified Twitter screen cap not some internet speculation. :)

yeah the proof of someone just re-posting stuff, that other people had to spend months for to explain to that person how a door-knob works

yeah cubic ninja price hike v2.......guess this was all the news sky3ds needed to keep selling......homebrew, driving flashcard sales since 1999

Sorta. But what if GW decides to imitate SKY3DS-esque functionality to load Cubic Ninja and then run the exploit? Just my uneducated guess. We'll see soon enough.

he could be right through, smealum afterall said that it can remove the Region lock which is only possible with kernel accses as far as i know. But maybe smealum found another way.
But all in all i trust smealum more then him.

Sorry I know I may sound like a hypocrite now but tbh I don't want it to ever happen because if all the 3d's will allow piracy so easy on the latest FW then you can kiss good bye to any decent games unless they are 1st party by Nintendo cause lets face facts who would even buy the games when you can get them for free so easy! The Nintendo 3DS handheld would take a massive nosedive if this happens!!! I'm sure they would sell the 3DS units by the bucket loads but games, not so, so this would be counterproductive for us all! :(

Yeah, makes sense that smea hid the exploit code on a remote server so that he can't be prossecuted if his trick is misused and enables piracy.
But everyone knows he's the creator of ssspwn... so what now?

Let's just sit and wait for this ssspwn CFW.

as long as he isnt publishing it himself he should be safe.
If people re engerneer it while he did everything to hinder it, that is.
