Because fast Sonic is not what fans want. This is styled after the Genesis games, fans asked for a game that you have to have some actual skill to beat and not just press one direction the entire time and run like crazy. It's as fast as i want it, i'm glad it's slower. There's a limit to how fast i want a Sonic game.

eeehhh, looks pretty average to be honest.

Sonic's has his day, no matter how much they try to bring him back through trying to make more classics they're always going to fall short. They were amazing games because at the time there was nothing like them. The only thing that can save this game is leval design.

I'm not sure if games like this benifit from having a 'go back and try again' option like he said it would have either, that's what made the early ones so good because you knew it was do or die to find the giant ring and not stuff up because there's only limited chances of getting all 7 emeralds before the end of the game. Where's the rush if you know you can go back and do it again??

Sonic 3 + knuckles is still the best sonic game

You do realize that in Sonic 3 & Knuckles you can take the emerald collecting at your pace don't you. When you beat the game, you can just use the level select from the file selection and choose the stage you want to find the easiest to find special stage ring. That lets you try the emerald stages as much as you want. And you cite that as being the best game, yet you say that being given another chance at the special stage is a bad idea...

I hope they don't do the thing with Sonic Unleashed where certain versions got certain levels...That wouldn't be fair..
