Device: PS5 Slim (CFI-2115, Board: EDM-052, PSU: ADP-400JR).
Symptoms:
Here is the behavior: In the main dashboard/menu or safe mode, the console can sit indefinitely without issues. In light, low-demand PS4 games it also runs for a long time. However, the heavier the load, the faster it crashes. In native PS5 games, it shuts down anywhere between 5 to 20 minutes, sometimes even faster depending on the load.
Crash sequence: Video signal cuts out suddenly (black screen), but the console stays on for another 5-10 seconds with the white power LED on and the fan spinning. After that, it fully shuts down. Right after the crash, the first press on the power button gives 1 beep and does nothing. The second press boots the console back up with 3 beeps and does a storage rebuild.

- 12V rail under load: Monitored with a multimeter during gameplay right up to the crash. Voltage remains rock steady at 12.06V – 12.08V with zero droop.
- Cold resistance readings (calibrated probes):
- VDD_GFX / VDD_CORE: 2.0 – 2.1 Ω
- VDD_SOC (R15 choke): 4.1 Ω
- VDD_MEM (1.35V GDDR6): 21.5 Ω
- VDD_MISC (0.85V): 9.6 Ω
- Syscon UART telemetry:
- At crash time: TSoCTSoC is between 51.6 °C and 77.3 °C (no APU thermal shutdown), TENVTENV is 27–35 °C.
- Error log sequence is 100% consistent:
- Primary trigger: B0088108 (Sonics Bus Error)
- Exactly 3–4 seconds later: 808B0000 / 808B00FF (SSD Controller Watchdog Timeout), followed by 80830019.
- Thermal interface: High-performance thermal putty (SmartMaster Pro, 13.5 W/mK) applied on B-side GDDR6 and VRMs.
