The trailer made want to vomit, just too much brightness for me and the music was awful.

Sonic games now are just aimed at kids (well I guess they always were aimed at kids but at least gamer kids), I kinda regard them to be akin to games based on cartoons.

Finally something to look forward to!
Well, I don't know about most people, but I love the Sonic games.

How the hell does this look better than Sonic 4? It was 22 seconds. I won't be sold until I see gameplay and then play it for myself. In my opinion, Sonic 4 looks more promising than this. It's just that Sonic fans have gotten too damn picky. You'd think they'd be a bit more open minded after not having a good Sonic game for years.

For one, Sonic Colours has an actual trailer.
Sonic 4's trailer is as lazy as it gets.

Since when did games need good trailers to be good? I'd rather have a good game than a trailer, wouldn't you? All I'm saying is, it's too early to judge Sonic 4 or Sonic Colours. Both games can be compared in due time. Right now, comparing them is just plain dumb.

Unfortunately that's not the case.
We've seen near-complete beta releases of Sonic 4 being leaked and played, we've seen 100% of a practically complete Sonic 4 and it blows chunks.

Then out of nowhere comes a trailer for Sonic colours, which in 20 seconds immediately demonstrates some actual creativity, dedicated scenic design, and even some better music.

It's plainly obvious that after seeing an hour of Sonic 4 gameplay and a 20 second trailer of Sonic colours, where all of SEGA's effort and creativity went.

Did you even play it? I'm not taking the word of stupid Sonic fans who played an early leak (Who likely expected this game to be on par with the original Sonic games). Plus, we've seen the same cgi cutscene crap in other sonic titles. Sonic 2006 looked like a great game until we played it. Then we learned it sucked. I don't see any difference here. In my opinion, Sonic 4 is our best shot at the rebirth of the Sonic franchise, not this.

I have not personally played Sonic 4, but I have seen someone playing it live on livestream.
Neither I, the player, or any other viewer enjoyed the game, but instead took joy in ridiculing it.

Anyway, yeah true that all Sonic games have this same CGI animation, which masks a subpar game, but my point is that Sega are still appear to be putting more effort into Sonic Colours.
Sonic 4 doesn't look like it took any effort, they slapped a homing attack on the Sonic Rush engine and used copied designs from Sonic 1 & 2.

I think that's because the fans were clamoring for a rehash of the old Sonic. All I want is something fun and fast. I don't care if Sega adds a shit load of annoying side characters (Unless they slow down the pace and are interfering), gives Sonic the cool guy attitude, or even opt for a full 3d adventure game. If it plays well, I'll get it.

Looks like this could be a cool Sonic game again. The trailer's looking good, at least.

That's how it always is... A nice trailer to get our hopes up, then a cruddy game to disappoint us.

Just kidding. Except the trailer part. Sonic trailers are always nice.
Reading what little info is known, the game seems interesting.

EDIT:

I don't get it, man. Yes, Sega makes Sonic games look good with neat pre-rendered stuff. And that's ALL we've seen so far of Sonic Colours. So, how can you tell they're putting more effort into it?

I hope it's like Sonic: Rush because that had all the best aspects IMHO,

Stuck to side scrolling platformer instead of free roaming platformer like on consoles nowadays and also had 3D which was great.

EDIT: I never owned a sonic game before the 3D top down view sonic (can't remember it's name) and that sucked ass so I wouldn't call me a fan. So even as a "Sonic-noob" I prefer the truly fast paced side scrollers to the full HD jumpin around platformers on the XBOX, Wii and (maybe, idk though) PS3?

One can only hope this isn't the latest in the string of utter disasters I've come to expect from Sonic ever since his ill-fated leap from the Dreamcast, and even back in his DC days he was starting to show his age. Thankfully it's all but irrelevant how crap this game is. I have the ability to play all the original Mega Drive Sonic games on my Cyclo, reliving the glory days when life was simple and going from left to right was as complex as games needed to be without all these ridiculous werehog and team blast gimmicks. If this game keeps it 2D, simple, fast and above all else, fun, then there might be some hope. But I see little reason to get my hopes up.

Sonic "fans" just like bashing Sonic games because it's "LOL COOL AND EDGYYYY"

But really, I'm sure most of you buy and enjoy the game IRL

I know I like them a lot
