All I ask for is a play coin modifier, that's it ;)

Oh wrong thread :P
I want them to be a Puzzle Swap Modifier so you can have all the pieces including pink pieces! I'm tired of getting people with No New Puzzle Pieces.

Also have a Save Backup Program for Physical & Digital Games Like Animal Crossing New Leaf, Pokemon X & Y, & Tomodachi Life Backup, Restore & Delete it would be nice if that actually happened.

I dont think this is getting more ridicoulus than all hundreads of gateway threads that is spamming this forum. This exploit could at least be usable for all 3ds users. Not only limited like the gateway threads where only 4.5 users & pirates spam :)

Oh my god, all of this.

I'm drunk!!! Damn! This game....*hic*

So all we need for this exploit is Spongebob Squigglepants and the Smealum's exlpoit on SD card right?

Sounds about right. But be prepared to lose the ability to play f/w >8.1 games, SDK8 games, online games with patches, eshop access.

well smash bros will most likely be playable on 8.0/8.1........possibly the new pokemon game might work on 8.0/8.1 they are the 2 main games coming out this year im most peoples eyes, unless they manage to squeeze a new update into pokemon before release i dont think there will be many games people who are interested in homebrew would sacrifice homebrew capabilities for.....and lets face it all that is on eshop is over priced digital versions of 3ds games or over priced VC games which will more than likely be playable on a homebrew emulator anyway

anyone wanting online play with games should update to 8.1 and make sure they have any patches downloaded now while 8.1 has eshop access, even if you stick on 8.1 you can still play online as long as you have the game updates required for the game and nintendo doesn't just release a game update to make it more difficult

so people who want homebrew will hardly be sacrificing much to stay on 8.1 or lower

wait when was spongebob confirmed as what we need? also how does this allow region access but not pirated games?

Yes. But it might need a 8.2 update. As for patches, things might change given that GW now has online play.

I suppose mass downloading every single patch for every single game might be an interim solution. But short of that, all future games will not be playable. Nintendo likes to release games that require latest firmware. Unless it's confirmed that FW spoofing is available with just userland access, it's a huge con.

It's a joke. The spongebob bit anyway. How the hell did you pick up on the region access bit?

It's what I heard on the IRC, maybe i'm not supposed to be telling people.
This should allow region access but definitely no pirated games until someone else manages to find an exploit for it to work.

well smealum has said he *should* be able to do region free....so if he can spoof the region in userland he could likely do some sort of FW version spoofing.......unless the 3DS can be forced to boot a game regardless of region (not sure excatly how the booting of games works) but either usermode has more freedom than some assumed or the booting of carts can be forced to skip region restriction and maybe possible FW restrictions too

also for the record the japanese release of smash bros is out very soon, they are most likely already into the manufacturing process, i doubt they would be willing to delay the game for X amount of time until smealum releases and then make a patch to include on the cart....although a cleverly timed game update might encourage homebrew users to update to play online

Yeah, hopefully region-free is doable. This makes me wonder if SSSpwn is deliberately designed to not run game roms even though it could be designed to allow the running of roms.

As for SSB, yes. The japanese release is coming soon but western release not so soon. Western release might require an update.

I believe I remember smealum stating, that he indeed specifically worked towards an exploit, that would not allow piracy, I believe a couple months ago he stated, he could probably enable piracy if he wanted to, but refuses to do so
however, I may be mistaken about this one, I think though, he once said something like that
if you want piracy, get a 4.5 3DS and gateway, this is for homebrew only

Exactly my thoughts. I.e, SSSpwn was built to prevent kernel access. Which means something similar to SSSpwn with kernel access could be built.

well thats why he never released his 4.x cfw emunand style hack as it had too much access and would likely be adapted to enable piracy.....as he has stated all along he doesnt want to do anything that would potentially lead to piracy, so the original exploit he had with rednand and VC rom injection is a completely separate hack, this is not a watered down version or restricted version...this hack is completely different and never had the ability to do any sort of nand redirection or rom loading to begin with

Yes. This is likely the case which makes it extremely interesting as how region free can ever work.

no such thing was ever said. god damn.
