A question...

does any of these updated cover modifications by any chance include USB support for neek2o?
(to those who don't know: neek2o treats the USB drive as the main nand, which causes other homebrew code to add a couple lines of code so they can actually use said USB drive). obcd knows this code and is willing to share it, but to my knowledge only stfour's postloader makes use of it.

Hence the question... :)

Here are the covers, if anyone is interested.
I have included fuzzyrename, an app that allows you to rename your image files to match your rom folder, by using fuzzy logic to find matches.
It allows you to visually scan the rename list to make corrections by hand before finally copying the renamed files to a new folder. Very nifty.
Fuzzyrename homepage.
thanks just need the snes9x 3d cartridge cover pack now if any1 can find it.

Another new NES emulator (FCeuGX) out now (.8?). Any chance you can update your cover mod please?

I've noticed that roms with the "[!]" tag in the filename, which denotes a good dump, cannot be matched to an image file with the exact same name. I have zeroed in on that tag as being the culprit. Is there a solution to this, other than renaming the roms and files?
This also affects matching the roms with the list.xml on snes9xgx mod.

The only way to display the cover when the rom end with "[!]" is to remove the "[!]" from the cover name.
Ex :
- Game is called Ballz 3D (U) [!].smc
- The cover should be called Ballz 3D (U).png (note the space removed)

Here is a quote of giantpune to explain the naming (link in the 1st post of this thread) :

1) take the full name of the rom and drop the extension
2)if the name contains "[" drop that, everything after it, and the spaces directly before it
3)truncate what you have left to fit in a char[64]
4)add .png

For me, the info.xml seems to work for this kind of roms, so I don't know what's the problem here.

@Wever
No, there isn't usb neek2o support and I admit not having a lot of interest for that.

I'll try to update the nes mod later, so please be patient friends.

Love it! I much prefer renaming the image files than the rom files, so the method you describe works great for me.

I'll see if maybe I copied the wrong info.xml file to sd/snes9xgx. Perhaps I grabbed the NoIntro one, whereas my roms are Tosec. Actually, my roms are goodroms but I think that's the same naming convention with things like (U) [!] and so forth.

About updating FCEUGx, that's awesome news!
I look forward to it.

I know its completely unrelated to the covers, but is it possible to add support for the Gamecube Pad's triggers? Right now you have to press them all the way down to click the trigger, and it would be nice to be able to just press them a bit down to register. I don't mean to use them as analogue triggers, which would be unusable, since neither the NES nor the SNES have some. Tantric posted somewhere in Snes9x GX's bugtracker, that some lib doesn't support that, but that was a while ago.

Your best bet would be to contact Karl Kenner and try to convince him of doing it. He made a bunch of control enhancements to VBAGx years ago, but I don't know if he is into it anymore, and Tantric mostly works on occasional bugfixes or incorporating enhancements that other contributors provide (like the recent filtering code, with help from eke eke). Try to find Karl's contact info in the google code page for VBAGx.

By the way, I played through and finished all the cups in Super Mario Kart and F-Zero a couple of years ago, both of which make heavy use of the shoulder buttons and never thought having to press them fully was an issue, even at the hardest levels. In what situations does it bother you?

Thanks, I'll try to get in touch with him.

I find it quite annoying in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, where you change your weapons with the shoulder buttons. It somehow feels unnatural to press such a "long" way to actually trigger an action.
