Hi, I want to mod my ps2 to be able to play games from a hard drive. I dont know if I should go with OPL and an HDD or PSBNN and a SSD. I just want to play games (no online stuff). Watching media files is a bonus but I have a ps3 for that. I also want to still be able to use my disc drive for the physical games I do have.
I’m looking for compatibility and accuracy. How accurate is the OPL compatibility list? Most recent entries seem to be from 2016/2017.
Also, SSDs are expensive now because AI, so if I do go that route, would a 1TB one be enough? there is a lower price 2TB one from TeamGroup Team Force VULCAN but there was a GitHub post about someone who had an issue with it. 2TB HDD for OPL is cheaper, as well as the adapter as it can be 3rd party.
Just asking here because the only home brew I ever did was a Wii a year ago and have no idea about the PS2 side despite loving the PS2 since I was a kid.
