Hacking PS1/2 FreeMCBOOT on version 1.953, how do I go about upgrading it?

I fired up my FAT PS2 and saw the Free MCBOOT version is 1.953.

Current version is 1.966.

How do I go about updating the mod? Is there a good reason to?

I want to use a hard drive with this.

EDIT: I also have OPL and ESR installed. I want to update those as well.

EDIT2: I found an FMCB 1.966 Newbie Package, not on this site. Will that work? It seems to include everything I need.

• wLaunchELF 41e4ebe (14\01\2019)
• Open PS2 Loader v1.0.0
• ESR r10f direct
• GSM 0.38
• Simple Media System 2.9 rev. 4 to work with latest PS2SDK
• PS2 controller tester

EDIT4: I think I can make it work. I have a copy of Swap Magic kicking around. Is it still worth updating FMCB?

I successfully upgraded to 1.966 and everything is working as far as I can test. This is solved.
