Looking at the ctrulib source, it seems like the 3D bit is set directly by the program when it's setting up its framebuffers, so the only way you could disable 3D is to either patch the program, or patch GSP (which is a bit harder, because for 3D to work you also need to set up the parallax barrier and double the brightness to accomodate for the extra light blocked out (which is what causes the sudden flash when switching between 3D and 2D)).

As for parental controls 3D settings, it's just a setting in cfg, and official games with 3D support should check cfg if that bit in the parental settings is set or not, and disable 3D in the code.

Is probably a broken contact. Try moving the contact under the slider switch with a thin wire with the console turned off. Then turn it on and try a game to see if 3D still works. Also, wear rubber gloves just in case while using the wire.

Or buy an old 2ds, they are quite cheap nowadays and they don't have 3D. Plus they are the 3DS/2DS model easiest to hack.

Has anyone tried the first Shin Megami Tensei on this emulator?
Whenever I fuse demons I get these garbled graphics.

I tried also on Vita with Retroarch and got the same results.
The game looks fine on this part on ZSnes and Snes9X on PC tho.

This has to do the snes9x baseline builds you're using. The 2002, 2005, and 2005 Plus (which bubble's is based off) probably aren't accurate enough to render the game correctly. Current desktop snes9x releases are increasingly being improved upon as computers themselves are getting faster to keep up (ie, accuracy vs speed trade-offs).

If you have a n3DS / n3DSXL / n2DSXL, you can try your luck with official Nintendo SNES VC injection or even BlargSNES. Both these emulators can also give garbled text if you take a look at post #2227.

The game looks alright in that part using a VC injection. So it is indeed an issue with Snes9x itself.

The Super Metroid + Link to the Past combination randomiser hack black screens when selecting "new game". Any chance of this getting support? Would love to play this on my 3ds

    1. I converted Zelda no Densetsu (V1.0) (J).smc (1.00 MB - 098FA6C7) into Zelda no Densetsu (V1.0) (J).sfc (1.00 MB - 3322EFFC) using this website:

    2. To make the Super Metroid and A Link to the Past randomizer rom hack, I used this website with these settings:
    • Select A Link to the Past ROM File: Zelda no Densetsu (V1.0) (J).sfc
    • Select Super Metroid ROM File: Super Metroid (JU) [!].smc (3.00 MB - D63ED5F8)
Super Metroid and A Link to the Past Item Randomizer (v10.1)
    • A Link to the Past Logic: No Glitches
    • Super Metroid Logic: Normal
    • Swords: Randomized
    • Morph: Randomized
    • Difficulty: Normal
    • Variation: ALTTP+SM Combo Randomizer
    • Goal: Defeat Ganon and Mother Brain
    • Seed: <option left blank>
    Game Details.
    Code:
    ALTTP Logic: alttp-no-glitches-v10.1
    SM Logic: sm-normal
    ROM build: 2018-11-20
    Difficulty: normal
    Variation: combo
    Mode: open
    Swords: randomized
    Morph: randomized
    Goal: ganon
    Seed: 394966269
Here was the provided *.txt Spoiler.
    Spoiler

    • SMALttP - sm-normal_alttp-no-glitches-v10.1_normal-open_swords-randomized_morph-randomized_ganon_combo_394966269.sfc
    • 6.00 MB - 56DB443B
    • No two roms will be the same in hash as everything gets randomized every time you reconvert.

    Results
Snes9x_3ds v1.30: As mentioned previously, screen goes black after selecting profile from the menu.
BlargSNES v1.3: Loads with black screens. Crashes the 3DS when resetting.
NSUI beta27's SNES VC injection: Black screens.
    RetroArch's Snes9x 2010 core: Game runs at 30 FPS.

I'm also interested in being able to play the Super Metroid/Link to the Past randomiser runs on Snes9x for Old 3DS, but as others have pointed out already, it doesn't work on v1.30.

My New 3DS XL is my favourite way to play SNES games.

Since you're getting a yellow screen I'm guessing you're using HBL, so what's your setup?

See if that Mac can boot USB Linux. Try torrenting with a smart phone. If you explain your situation at discordapp, r/3dshacks, here at GBAtemp, or even at those [..] sites, and somehow manage to discretely acquire frogcert.bin, that file is 2.09 MB with CRC32 hash 901ECE31. This is so you don't get a fake or bad one from anyone who wish to brick your 3DS.
