I G G Y WHO DAT?

Sorry, couldn't hold it in.

Even though I am no developer it seems logical :P
Sooooo

Access kernel,
Kernel hook & functions.
Create offsets,
Create paths for common/user dirs,
Include kernel defs,
Setup exceptions,
Create dynamic mount path prefix (cafe os sd path / sd mount path,
Mount sd,
Allocate memory,
Some other stuff?

Modified fw files to sd.
Compile script to boot fw from sd.

Thinking out loud and wanted somewhere extra to keep my top-down, where else is better than here....å

Anything non constructive wins the iggy badge.

input welcomed.

It would just take one person with cat-Dev and NWF publishing licence to push an app with a purposeful backdoor to gain kernel.....

.. Cough..
i meana im legally able to develop for wii u and can obtain the latest dev files and a dev console. console costs about 1500 more than id be willing to spend ;)

I know at least 2 people who already have CAT-DEV machines and licenses, on GBAtemp, who talk the talk but will never walk the walk.

They know who they are.....

Would be nice if someone leaked the construct2 or unity plugin. If leaked to the right people, any drm could be checked for and removed if present. After all they are only plugins.

I would also think legally able devs could shed some light on the usb situation. If we had access to usb files on linux/windows, perhaps a sidesploit would be attainable. I have tried all known proprietary information including iosu keys to access the drive but can only get a small amount of proprietary information back from the drive just no cigar. If only we could mod/inject a save file or an update to exploit.

The SDK has already been leaked. I found a fw.bin and kernel.bin inside the code folder of a titleID (iirc): 0005380000000003

I'm not talking about the sdk. We also have the iosu fw.img fully decrypted and made into a cfw. However we have no real access to usb drive files or any entry point yet to install cfw accept for a hardware mod and that is not desirable by any means. Also you can't get construct/unity plugin from the sdk.

Both plugins are downloadable from the source (scirra and unity)

What do you mean to buy without Nintendos approval exactly?

In relation to the following posts,
as I was not aware I could just download them if that is actually possible without approval/licence

Scirra don't bundle the plugin with the software. It's available only to licensed Wii U developers. I am a paid user with the latest version and there is no Wii U plugin in my bundle.

Scirra are pleased to announce availability of the Wii U system plugin for Construct 2 to Nintendo Authorised Developers. Support is available since Construct 2 release r159 (https://www.scirra.com/construct2/releases/r159), which was released last week. The plugin allows Construct 2 games to be exported and run on Wii U via the Nintendo Web Framework, while also integrating with Wii U specific features such as the Wii U GamePad and Wii Remote controllers. Developing for consoles has never been easier!

Construct 2 developers can apply to become Nintendo Authorised Developers athttps://wiiu-developers.nintendo.com/signup/. After becoming authorised, instructions for obtaining Wii U plugin and further documentation are available on the Wii U developer's forum. The plugin will continue to be developed, adding new features and fixing any issues that are found, and further updates will be released there. Note that the Construct 2 download itself does not contain any Wii U functionality, which is instead provided through the Wii U plugin alone.

This is the first time Construct 2 developers have a direct path to publishing on a major console, and we look forward to seeing how our developers’ imaginative games make creative use of the exciting and flexible capabilities of Wii U features; such as the accelerometer and gyroscope-enabled controllers and five-way local multiplayer. The Wii U plugin is also available at no extra cost to Construct 2 license holders. Register with Nintendo if you haven't already and start making games for Wii U!

As I originally thought, thanks for confirming. Now if only we had some leaked versions of the plugins.... Happy thoughts.
