Hacking slow SD Copy speeds after converting to 64kb cluster

after i converted my 32GB SD Card to a64kb cluster size for AuReiNand/Luma3DS i was averaging w/ my USB 2.0 SD Reader 3+MB/s copy speeds now it bearly tops out at 900kb/s and had an Estimated ETA of 7 Hours to backup my SD Card! @[email protected]

Anyone encounter something like this or know whats wrong?

The issue here is your card reader and card.

Even on a USB 2 Card Reader your Read/Write Speeds on a Class 10/UHS1 Card should Peak at 18MBs Write and 30MBs Read (Micro SD) and 30MB Read/Write on SD

If it was USB3 it would be about 60/70MBS+ Read and 18MBs Write Peak (Micro SD) and 60/70MB/s Read 30/40MBs+ Write on an SD card.

The fact you are getting 3mb/s on a 32GB card is the real problem as even the Default 2GB/4GB Cards that Came with the 3DS are faster transferring than that.

Try a different card reader. Some card readers are so damn cheap built so I wouldn't be surprised if some of them have problems with big cluster sizes.

I agree, something is wrong with either your card or your reader. Perhaps the partition isn't aligned properly, you might want to consider reformatting it with the latest emunand9 release. I know that my 128GB card with 64k clusters is faster than my 64GB card with 32k clusters both with a SD reader and when using ftp on the 3ds, though not by much (1.2-1.4mb/sec on the 64gb, 1.6-1.8 on the 128gb if I remember correctly).

However, it does take some homebrew such as decrypt9/emunand9 and JK Save Manager a little longer to start up and save data exporting is slightly slower.

I always use 32KB cluster.

update:
After replacing my SD Readon speeds didnt impove much (by an extra 250kb/s) shoulda tried this before, changed which USB port on the front i was using and FFFT, now it averages w/ TerraCopy 20Mb/s
