I bought a Sky3ds and they send me a sd card with some games, this games are working fine, but I get some other sd card I have, download DiskWriter 202b1, template0513 (change template in disk writer before write game) and I try to add games in this card, but all games I add (Ace combat, Pokemon Y, Adventure Time) doesn't work properly, the are changing without I push the blue button.
I try to add this games in the same sd card with the other games working correctly, the card are working fine, but when i change the games and comes up a game i added they simply change without my command again.
Someone knows what i can do to solve this?

Thanks!

The red model has that limitation. It remember the first 10 games that you put on the card.
Where do you bought the sky3ds?

another one of these cases, wow.
My friend bought last week a sky3ds 'blue' and it comes with the same problem.

I try to write 2 games in a new Sd Card (8Gb) and the problem persists.

I bought this card in a kind of Ebay in Brazil (MercadoLivre) you should know, you´re brazilian... hehe

The fist model, the 'red button', has the 10 games limite in the card itself. Its 10 games per sky3ds, not per microSD card.

They corrected the red button so you can add more then 10 games; it's just every game you add past the first 10 will make it auto scroll even if the game is not on the card. So if your new game is not part of the first 10 it's going to auto scroll

Are you all not reading what he said? It happens on a new microsd with only 2 games.

I heard you but in the op it stated there where games written to the card before. Those 10 games will not auto s roll but ANY OTHER GAMES will. So if the two games where not part of the first 10 it will scroll

Oh yea. If it was a red button. Seems like a few resellers have somehow been selling the red buttons with blue buttons.

Yeah that's what I said in my first post. Imop since the cap has been lifted some resellers are changing the red button on old stock and selling them as blue.

Is there a way to actually know if the Sky3DS card I own is a "real" blue-button or a "changed-button" card? Because my card bought in Spain (Nosolochips.es, in Madrid) is behaving exactly as you say (the first ten games I wrote work perfectly in any SD card, but newer ones are being skipped automatically, no matter the microSD, rom, or anything).
Thank you very much!
Gabriel,

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
