Hacking Skin Template

Why wont this one work. template works, but when i change it it doesnt work

Boredom strikes again. I know there are a lot of other templates out there so why do you need another one? You really don't. But, I don't care. I was bored. Template was tested on the R4 and should fit everything perfectly. Info bar in green is where the version, item selection, and time are shown. Not sure if either has a specific width. I can only figure 5 characters for the version, 11 for the item selection ("Boot Slot-2" being the biggest thing that'd fit in that space), and 8 characters for the time. I just chose the whole width, feel free to section em off if need be, but it's in the right spot vertically.

I feel like a pain asking this, but is there anyway you could make a new bg2 template that includes the Action Replay cheat button? I would really appreciate it, I'm a bit of a boob when I try these things on my own! Thanks

is there a guide to using the theme.ini file? i'd rather not try to figure it out myself if there's a guide. here's an example i pulled from a skin:

i was under the impression that all the image files had to be 144 kb... am i wrong? all of mine are, except for one. and i dont think that one works.

You're right. I don't think they have to be 144kb, but they always will be if they're sized and compressed correctly. It'd be impossible to create a skin (correctly) that's not 144kb, hence, that one that you have doesn't work. It's either the wrong size or compressed incorrectly.

this really should be stickied. i managed to set up some guidelines in PS/Illustrator that were pretty close, but this is a huge help. many thanks.

Cool template. Works nice and even the nifty buttons for the soft reset and brightness are great to have.
