Ah! Great!
Thanks, will try to downgrade after work

FYI, Menuhax is probably the best thing to use when downgrading.

Yes to each.
US region on both.
I tried the page 95 updater 0.4.2b
Tried with browser which gives could not thread core error, and menuhax which says downloading cia, downloaded , rebooting in 10, reboots to main menu with no changes
tried menu hax a few times.

Do you have a folder on your SD card root called updates? Did you perhaps make a typo when naming it? And do you have the .cias in that folder?

Try formatting your 3DS and SD card, it seems to help. I haven't heard of your problem before.

I think I found the error but I really appreciate the follow up.
The updates folder had a mini duplicate folder (in name only) in it that was messing it up. I removed it and it worked.

I heard something about this.

I need to use browserhax for install menuhax first right?

Then try to downgrading using the menuhax.

Yes, you need another hax to install Menuhax.

Question, do you have ninjhax or OOT3dhax? If not, are you able to get one of them?

Nope.

Thats why i was thinking to use browserhax for install menuhax, that's a problem?

No, Browserhax is fine for installing Menuhax. It's just that when you install any "hax", you have to choose the firmware you're on. If you're on 10.X and choose that firmware when installing the hax, it won't work when you downgrade.

I recommend installing Menuhax but choose 9.2 as your firmware when installing. Then try using Browserhax to downgrade (it might work), Menuhax will work when you downgrade to 9.2. If you don't do this, you won't have any hax when you downgrade.

Do you have the game Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time?

Result: Successful to downgrade (10.3 to 9.2)
Device: Old 3DS XL, Black and Blue
CIA Used: USA : 9.2.0-20U (Full)

Successful Entry Point: Ninjhax (with a blue button sky3ds for the game)
No black screen after reboot.
The whole process took less than 3 minutes

Thanks for the tutorial!

Wow ... thanks for the tip !
I wasn't knowing nothing about this , don't even remember if i saw this anywhere.

I don't have any other entry point besides browserhax...
So i'll need to downgrading with the browserhax... my hopes are lower now...

Or just wait for Gateway 10.3 support

Why are your hopes lower? I'm pretty sure people have done this with browserhax. Ninjhax didn't work for me, Menuhax did. Browserhax should work, the tutorials mention it.

I only tried two hax, ninjhax and Menuhax. Menuhax worked for me but that doesn't mean Menuhax is the only one that works.

I can't reinistall the menuhax after the downgrade?

Just to know, i want to downgrade to use Gateway, if this help.

Maybe if some people who are stuck without any hax when they downgrade if they were to get the payload for 9.2 menuhax and there region and place that into extdata with CHMM and on there sd card before downgrading and boot into sysupdater with a different entry point than menuhax as that won't work cause you'll have 9.2 one. So say ironfall or browser hax when downgraded menuhax may work. But don't use the no button press option and you would have to use menuhax 1.3 as that can be injected into extra data with CHMM beforehand (just a thought)

You can, but you need an entry point e.g. ninjhax to use the homebrew launcher to install it.

Also, you should use Rxtools instead of Gateway. It's free and has all the capabilities. But you'll need an entry point so do what I said, install Menuhax *choosing 9.2 as your firmware* and use Browserhax to downgrade.

The CIA files...
Took about 50 tries for my damn N3DS to recognize them, but I'm finally down to 9.2 from 10.3. Not an easy downgrade at all for me. Don't know if it helped, but here's the last thing I tried before it worked:

1. Backup EVERYTHING on the SD card you don't want, wipe it.
2. Put a fresh starter pack, sysUpdate, and the CIA files onto the card.
3. Use your favorite entry point. I usually boot using BrowserHax or MenuHax... IronHax and Oot3DHax tend to soft brick my N3DS 50% of the time, while BrowserHax and MenuHax are pretty solid. Do whatever is convenient, really.
4. Run FTPBrony, wait about ten seconds, then back out with B. RUNNING sysUpdate DIRECTLY SOFT-BRICKED MY N3DS EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!
5. Run sysUpdate, press Y, and pray.

if sysUpdate crashes to a blackscreen upon startup, its safe to reset. return to step 3.
if sysUpdate freezes upon pressing Y, its safe to reset. return to step 3.
if sysUpdate crashes after pressing Y with an error message like "CIA files could not be read!" its safe to reset. return to step 3.
if it says something like "Reading CIA files..." you are one lucky dog.

FOR THOSE LOOKING FOR THE CIA FILES:
linking them is a no-no, but i'll tell you how i found them.
1. i watched the video on this site http://wololo.net/2016/01/04/3ds-system-software-downgrade-tutorial/
2. i pause the video at about 3:33.
3. i maximized the video and changed the resolution to 1080.
3. i copied down a long and ugly link.

Home this is of some help. Don't give up. It works.

Well if you have the 1.3 offline themehax inside that is a folder called themepayload you locate the 9.2 one for your region rename it to body_lz.bin from menuhax_eur19456 whatever and stick it in a folder and place in the theme folder. Then run CHMM on your higher firmware you can inject that body_lz.bin (the payload) and that installs themehax. But you don't want to trigger it with L button as your system would crash. Then when downgraded hold L upon boot and hey presto 1.3 themehax boots. But that's just a theory and in theory it should work but I'm not sure if it would mess with anything when downgraded. If anyone with a hard mod wants to test this they could.

Downgrade. Gateway runs homebrew. You can forget about Menuhax working or not, you won't need it. You can install it again with Gateway to use as a backup, if you want.

Why didn't you tell me earlier?
