I just successfully downgraded my 9.9 Japanese N3DS using julian's sysUpdater, however for some weird reason I end up in 9.1 instead of 9.2. Also those who keep getting the Failed to get CIA file info! keep trying, it took me around 30-50 attempts.

EDIT: If you get a black screen when the microsd card is inserted just delete the /updates folder and it will work again, there's no need to format.

That tutorial is for 4.x systems though, and it never mentions launching rxtools through HBL. Maybe I should stick to the web browser solution for now.

Wow guys I finally got it!
I've been following this thread all day! So heres my info

NEW 3DS - 10.3.0-28U -> 9.2.0-20U
Julian20's release on page 95 of this thread.
I did format, although I was not sure I had to.
Used browserhax to install menuhax, used menuhax 2.1 to launch homebrew browser
Launched 3ds-FTP, pressed B, then loaded sysupdate.
Tried around 10-20 times, lots of times sysupdate didnt even give an output, then I had lots of CIA info errors.

But eventually it worked! Thanks mates.

I finally successfully downgraded to 9.2.0-20E on my N3DS XL
It even rebooted by itself.

I was on 10.3.0-28E and used the last julian20's build.
It worked after 15-20 tries, sometimes it would give the "Failed to get CIA file info" error or it would just show a black screen.
I was going to format the 3DS if the last try didn't work but it was not needed

Question, I have a freind who got the original version of this setup to work. Looking back at the thread, this writes NATIVE_FIRM in a different order than the newer version. Does anyone know for sure if this can cause issues later on when we touch things like CFW and installing CIAs using FBI.

I can't install Ninjhax 2.5 after downgraded to 9.2.0, tried 5 times but it keeps crashing my 3DS and rebooting into home menu when I scan the QR Code. It was working on 10.3. Should I keep trying?

Okay.... I've started the downgrading process and went away when the screen was full with XXXXXXXXXX.CIA INSTALLED!
and I come back and got a blackscreen...

You need to reinstall ninjahax for 9.2 so it can load the proper payload.

Downgraded using Themehax from 10.2.0U and Julian's updater. Took quite a few tries.

Had to reboot manually at the end because it did not reboot in 10 seconds. It seemed to take a while to boot up but it worked. Thanks!
