So after full bricking my O3DS ON 10.3U i decided to give it another go on my N3DS on 10.1U and this time i succeed to downgrade on my 1st try. I used julian20 sysupdater on page 95 on this thread and i used ninjahax to start homebrew then i installed homemunehax. Then i rebooted holding L to boot into homemenuhax i then open ftp pony and pressed B to closed it the lauched sysupdater and click Y to downgrade. After about 2min it finish and rebooted to a black screen all i did was remove sd card and rebooted to 9.2 ;)

1.Used julians20 sysupdater (https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutoria...ngrading-your-3ds.407888/page-95#post-5923820)
2.Used CIA's for N3DS US 9.2.0-20U Full
2.Launched Ninjahax
3.Installed homemenuhax
4.Rebooted Holding L to launch homemenuhax
5.Open ftp pony then pressed B to go out
6.Launched sysupdater and pressed Y to downgrade (AFTER about 2-3 min it rebooted to black screen)
7.Removed sd card and rebooted system to 9.2U

This worked for me on O3ds from 10.3.0-28U to 9.2.0-20U when running ninjhax or browserhax with any of the sysupdater versions that are up here did not. The run that worked I used Ninjhax to install homemenuhax and then just launched julian's SULib sysupdater and it worked :D
Good luck everyone!

Edit: forgot version numbers

Posting to confirm a successful downgrade. I went from 10.3 on my US O3DSXL to 9.2 with no difficulties. I backed up my SD card, kept the 3DS plugged in, and loaded sysUpdater (the one linked in the OP) via Menuhax. It worked on the first try :v The CIA files (which I verified w/ the MD5s) installed pretty swiftly, and then the next time I looked over it was on a black screen. I left it alone for about 1 minute and it loaded the 9.2 home menu! It looks like everything is working, I'm about to put a CFW on it.

Just thought I'd be as detailed as possible, in case this helps everyone. Thanks a lot for all those who made the tools!

It's risky to downgrade, period. If the MD5 is the same it's no riskier than anyone else.

has anyone got a permaBrick on O3DSby using Julian's sysUpdater?

if yes,be specific about what happened during the downgrade

i want to avoid a brick at all

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

also if someone gets softbricks, format the 3DS then try to downgrade again, it seems to fix it but i haven't been able to test it by myself ( over 4 hours trying to update damn internet )

Not permaBrick, only soft-brick from me. Twice
Things I noticed: No ARMKernell11 or whatever message apears, it doens't load #1, #2 either (As opossed to the other sysUpdater)

Using Menuhax 2.1 on HB2.5, o3ds 10.3

I've tried about 50 times, tried all of the entry points (Menuhax, Browserhax, Ninjhax, OoThax) multiple times, using proper CIA's for 9.2.0-20U (MD5's matching) on a New 3DS (Hyrule Edition) with zero success.

Most of the time the sysUpdater hangs before displaying, when it does and Y is pressed, I get (every time):
titleException:
main.cpp:148: Result: 0xD900182F
Failed to get CIA file info!

I know others have had success on the new 3DS on 10.3. I even formatted the 3DS to make sure I'm using a fresh system. No luck :(

in what piece of hardware is the 3DS NAND stored in?

i have some old 3DS parts that aren't in use now, so if i hardbrick i could replace the part the NAND is in and i could get my 3DS working again right?

i would feel a lot more safer if i can confirm this

Just downgraded perfectly fine on my O3DS (10.3.0.28-E) to 9.2, but in 9.2 I just couldn't load any entrypoint to HB Launcher so I reverted back to 10.3. Browserhax didn't seem to work (clicked slider, bottom screen turned yellow, then gray then browser crashed) and I couldn't load Ironfall since it seems to require a higher Firm.

Downgraded from 10.3 to 9.2 US without any special treatment, just copied everything to my pc (backup of my SD) and then copied the CIA folder to the SD and also used the sysupdater from the OP and pressed Y only once and let the magic happen all alone. 3DS did everything on his own also the rebooting was done without any issue, I always format my microSD+adapter monthly with SD FORMATTER 4.0 Hope this helps more people.

Should i try to downgrade? I got 2 O3DS's, one on 10.3 and the other on 9.2. I'd like to downgrade the one on 10.3 because the l and r triggers aren't broken on those.
