Hacking Simple GBA flash cart for little brother?

My little brother has asked about my R4, and after a bit of explaining, he asked if there was one like it for GBA.
I told him there was, and now he wants one.

Problem is, I haven't touched GBA flash carts.. and I know some are pretty complex. (Button combos for writing saves? Eh?)
What's the simplest option I could get to hand to him full of ROMs without requiring much setup/maintenance?

SuperCards have complicated saving. M3s are expensive and I have never used one. The EZ-Flash range is supposed to be good, check out the reviews we have here on the site.

My EZ-Flash IV seems to very slowly corrupt my 1GB MiniSD, so I wouldn't reccomend it for him... Maybe an Elink or an M3 Perfect SD?

I would recommend an EFA.. Sadly you can only really find the "simple" version these days. But they seem to work well.

I owned a real one back in the day and it was super simple.. Add roms.. Put in GBA chose rom and play

You could get a fat EZ Flash 3-in-1 and like right a game to the NOR and it'll work I think

I could not recommend any single card for GBA games. I have owned several.
I would use 2 cards:

For slot 1, I think R4, DSTT and EDGE are the simplest, especially if you already know how to maintain an R4.
R4 is now obsolete and out of production.
DSTT used to be very cheap and available, now it is the same price as an EDGE and not very available.
I like the EDGE the best and now it only costs $0.09 more than a DSTT!

I also like my SCDS1, but it is more complicated and powerful and about $5 more expensive than the other 2.

For slot 2, you should also get an EZFlash 3in1 card.

Since you already have an R4, you could make him a bootable 3in1 with 1 GBA game at a time on NOR. as Diablo1123 suggested.

I use and swear by my 2x EZ FLASH ADVANCE III dev kits if you can find them they come with the dev kit loader hardware and carts that vary from 1gbit through to 8gbit

even with a 1gbit you can fit about 10 - 20 roms on

If your unit is really GBA, then I recommend EZFlash IV miniSD. It works perfect for me with its simple interface though you'll need it's software. But once you get the games on the card it's no hassle playing games.
