Hacking should I update my wii then resoftmod it?

lately with all the new updates to stuff like the shop channel and the SM to 4.2, Im still on 4.0u with the new HBC 1.06 installed but I still have the old preloader 0.29 and cios38 rev14 so my question is

Would it be alot easier to just update the wii through nintendo and resoftmod the entire thing?

I dont have to worrry cuz my bootmii can only be installed as a Ios so no big loss.

u can, but u would have to rehack ur wii, better to update using the wad offline method (less work). Both ways work, up 2 u

just update the shop channel with wiiscu and install preloader29jodi of the new preloader30

in fact the 4.2 Update "can" be dangerous (when it writes the boot2 update) just use better one of the unofficial updaters out there.

we're talking less than 1% chance a ninty update will brick your wii.

Dunno from where you got the numbers but that´s why i wrote it CAN be dangerous.

ok I have corps v3.3 installed with the homebrew updated to1.06 and the HBC is upside down.
So I install IOS36-64-v1042.wad and the HBC is right side up.

should I install IOS61-64-v4890.wad then reinstall HBC and DVDx v2 and use nusd to update the shop channel?

then run my corps v3.4 to make everything work?
