For about a year or two, I've been getting my feet wet with the GBA engine known as Butano. It seems pretty competent to use from my point of view. However, I have read that reading the Tonc lib may be necessary for Butano. From my understand, Butano sort of acts as a cover for some of the more harder parts of GBA programming, and while I have always intended on reading the Tonc lib, I had the impression that reading the Tonc lib was not necessary for Butano.
