Hi all ive got a Wii and i dont have moded it.

Im just thinking about modding it.
I got everything at home i need for soldering.

But what should i choose?

Ive looked at the free ones like OpenWii Atmega8L chip.
But is it easy to handle and will it work fine on my Pal 3.0E Wii?

And if not what should i choose then?
And i dont wont to drill holes in my wii or something like that becurse i still want the change to warrenty by removing the chip.

Thanks for the help

Have you done the research into finding out if your wii has cut legs or not? And if it does, are you willing to remedy that?

Open source chips are great. Do yourself a favor and get a socket. It'd make popping out for reflashes or just precautionary action a lot easier and cleaner, especially if you worry for the warranty, you'd want to solder as little as possible

Ok im currently looking at the OpenWii.
And i care for the warranty but i have tools to remove to soldering iron again.

And yes im also thinking about a socket specialy becurse i dont want to kill the chip.
And are the PIC type chip a good choise?
Becurse its very low change for overheat since it dont require soldering on the chip.

Please answar me
