Gaming Should I buy a used 120GB Elite or....?

Hello fellow Tempers,

I want to get my hands on a 360 and a friend currently is selling me his Black Xbox 360 Elite (120GB HDD) for $200 USD. Should I take him up on his offer or what? I'm mostly concerned for the Red Ring of Death (RRoD) problem since I've witnessed it on almost every single 360 console that I've seen (that my friends have >_>).

Is the Elite immune to this? Is it a good deal? WTB input pls. :3

I'd say save up for the Slim too, unless you're trying to get it hacked, in which case the Elite may be a more tempting offer.

Since the Slims supposedly has an improved cooling-system, is it less likely to be affected by the RRoD?

how long did everyone had their console for before it RROD? i want to get a elite because the slim is too much money, won't be going online because of the risks so the console will be offline only.

i've had two rrod's. maybe 2-3 years for each

The new slim model can still get the error that causes the RROD, but since the actual hardware has no red LEDs, It is incapable of displaying the error.

go for a Wii, Metroid other m is almost here and wii can't get a red ring of death
