While I would never, shoplifting is one of those smaller crimes where I just think, "eh, whatever". So long as it's like, Walmart and not some small store. I do think it's a slippery slope, though.
Try shoplifting from gamestop. You can't, none of their games on display has a game in the case. :ninja:

although I'll admit I found a loose switch game in a local store (that I never go too) once.... lets just say I took the game...and gave it away later

Well there’s billions of people on the planet-
And if you just happened to do it, then surely some other people still do :P

(They do)
It’s just the the majority doesn’t get caught-
In fact, I think someone who knows what they’re doing has around a 1 in 45 chance of being caught it was?

Worked in retail for years, never lifted an item where I worked. It was more fun to stand at the front door and ask for it back then it would have been to gank.

But if you forgot an instruction manual. Man those were the days. You could take that.

You're 100% right. 1. They're not stupid. 2. They do it for themselves. 3. They're not trying to make a profit off it.

I have never shoplifted, but I had a couple friends who have shoplifted from a save on foods. Don't know what they stole.

EDIT: For those of you who don't know, save on foods is a Canadian supermarket
