Gaming Shook my 3DS for 2000 times and I only have 10 play coins

I'm really curious as to why my 3DS says I've walked 2000 steps yet it only shows me the 10 coins I already had. Do you have to wait a certain amount of time to get yout extra coins for you steps?

I think it's 10 coins per day.

10 is the maximum you can get per day.

No.

Roll the date back a year, walk 1000 steps, then change the day when you get your max 10 coins. Repeat (you don't have to change the year any more).
You can get coins to your hearts content with this method (assuming you like the exercise).

What do coins do?

the play coins on the 3DS do various things. On the 3DS they allow you to buy stuff in the AR store, let you get puzzle pieces, and like you buy heroes for the build in RPG.

For games not built in
Street fighter 4 - buy toys
Mercs 3D - Cheat to get weapons
I have no idea for other games >>

You can unlock some stuff in Super Monkey Ball 3D, but that game is pretty bad.
I've also seen a trailer for a sudoku game on the 3DS, I think it used play coins to give hints.

You don't need to roll the date back a year....

Just go to System settings > Other settings > Date & Time > Todays Date > Change the 'Day' to the following day > [OK] (twice) > Then go back into 'Date & Time' & change the 'Day' back to the present day
& you don't need to walk for it to count your steps, you can 'cheat' just by shaking it
