From what you're saying it sounds like he's running a pirated dsiware under stock firm - why I don't know. Everything should run fine with sig patches. That the only thing that causes system settings crashes in my 3 years fooling with dsiware hax.

when you copy it to your SD it just copies it, not moves it, DSiWare is only runable from the System Memory, thus this is why you need to copy it back afterwards, just keep a copy of the BIN you remade now

After I rebuilt it in Jenkins it worked fine. Wonder if something got corrupt.

it may of been corrupted from the DSiWare transfer

I can't remember if I've done it before. It's been so long since I've done stuff like this. I had a arm9 thingy in the root of the SD Card, but I can't remember if I was successful in installing or I gave up...

Press and hold select while your DS is all the way off, then press power while still holding select. Let me know what you get.
