So Ive recently gotten a PS Vita and set up Henkaku Enso 3.65. It runs perfectly using the 16gb PS Vita card but Im having a lot of trouble setting up SD2VITA. Ive spent hours and hours trying different things but I cant seem to even get to the stage to try out to card in my vita.

Basically Ive followed all the steps of setting up the card and Ive gotten to the the stage where I have backed up my ux0 folder onto my computer.

When I try and transfer the ux0 folder onto the microSD card it keeps crashing my machine or not allowing the process to complete. I have a macbook pro so at first I tried formatting the card using the mac method in the online instructions I found on codedougnut (sorry i cant post links as Im new).

When transferring the files over to the SD card it gets about 2% into the process and then it wont allow certain files to be copied onto the SD card.

Thinking that maybe this was a mac issue I installed windows onto my laptop and got that running in Parallels. I reformatted the SD card for windows using the same instructions as above and flashed the zzblank.img file on there. Began the transfer and still the same issue, it gets about 2% in and just freezes.

Ive also tried transferring it directly to the SD card using filezilla FTP which crashed filezilla.

Ive also tried copying each folder one at a time from the ux0 folder onto the memory card. I can copy the first 1-2 main folders in the ux0 folder but beyond that it just crashes again.

Its also worth noting that I have pretty much deleted everything form the 16gb card before backing it up to minmizse the size of the transfer.

At this stage i would be totally happy if there is a way to not have the ux0 backed up at all and just start fresh on the SD2VITA although Im guessing thats not possible as I cant see anyone having done that elsewhere?

Im at my wits end with this and would love some advice if anyone has any ideas. Ive tried everything I can think of here.

I have a feeling the SD card is toast. I tried the suggestion above to run F3X and scan for errors. It began the program and said it would need 4:00 hours to scan the card even though it was empty. After 5 mins of running it the programmed crashed. After the card couldn't be read in mac. I managed to get it to be recognised in windows, cleared it and reformatted it again and now it wont show up at all on the computer. This was a brand new sandisk SD card so I really dont know why this is happening!! Unless anyone has a better idea Im going to try and return it to the store.

nope, your sd card is busted. from your initial post we can already guess and now that you've already proven it, better you return it and buy a new one

hay man, I read your post the other day, and we have the exact same setup, vita, fw, Sony men card, and I got a Mac too, ahahah
um, don't worry about the non working sd card, it must have been a bad one, happens sometimes.
I have bought many sd cards from my local game store and I have had no issues,
so, if you get another sd, look for a good brand one, or just buy one from your local area, cause there you can't go wrong? I mean they can't sell bad/flauty sd cards in your local area?
online, I guess that is another story.

hope this helps, you hope you find a good sd card for your vita!

did you re-run h-encore? what firmware are you on?

im on 3.65 firmware so enso is always running on my vita.

might just be a case of running h-encore again.

when you back up your old sony memory card to your pc to transfer the files to the sd card did you turn on show hidden files in windows or you wouldnt of back up your sony memory card correctly some files will be missing

when you back up the sony memory card to your pc via vita shell you need to make sure you turn on show hidden files in windows then copy and paste all the files from the memory card to your pc then paste them back onto your new sd card.

everything will then work as normal if you have storagemgr installed.

this is the tutorial i followed:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-my-sd2vita-psvsd-is-having-issues-thread.510876/

i use my 64gb micro sd card for all my vita games

and my 32gb sony memory card for all my ps1 and psp games.
