Is it legal to setup some kind of (irresponsible) bounty program?

Where people can donate overtime to pay whomever comes up with a full fledged hack for the Switch 2?

Surely this would speed this up.
I don't think the people waiting for the homebrew have the amount of money for both a bounty program and the lawyers for the time nintendo finds the people making money from a third pary by hacking their new console

Nintendo uses HackerOne (a bug bounty program) and they offer way more money than this possibly could.

Honestly ?
Come on, huge most of the hackers are just interested in the exercise of hacking a system.
Don't even care about homebrewing which is a nice side effect btw.
The ones caring about money don't "belong" to GBATemp (I'd suspect a lot of accounts to be here, just to follow piracy subjects). These people are fighting in another category. IMHO, they wouldn't care about 'your' bounty program.

I wish I were clever enough and had time enough to go for hacking the switch 2, though :-)

Nintendo would have to do something as anti-consumer as Sony did to get the ball rolling on that one.

There is already proof that it can be hacked; "Mig-Flash" style devices work on the Switch 2—we can create a card similar to the old DS R4 cards. Thanks to the "game card key" system, we can make this work without needing exact 1:1 copies of genuine cards (like the Sky3DS did). We can load game data onto the flash card—let's call it "Switch2Flash"—along with either a fake or a real activation key. Initially, the card could be used to install games offline or even run them directly if possible. We’ll also be able to spoof keys for fully digital games to play them, and even put DLC and update on the card, since the game key itself is enough to play.

Game card keys make it possible to create R4-style solutions for any game. If the Switch 2 doesn't end up with something like Atmosphere, creating fake physical cards with activation keys offers an advantage to R4 creators: they can combine physical data with keys to force the use of Switch 2 games.

At least it remains a possibility.

Sorry about my English; I'm using Google Translate, so I don't know if I'm making myself understood.
The MIG cards don't actually hack. What they do it try to act like a Switch 1 card to play Switch 1 games. You can't run anything else from them unless the system it's running on is hacked to support that, which in this case, the Switch 2 is not.

And like, do we really think *Nintendo* made the first unhackable console? Nintendo?
Nintendo? The company that has the most at stake in making an unhackable console? Sony and MSFT both sell lots of other stuff, only 8% of MSFT's revenues are from gaming. Nintendo gets 100% of its revenue from gaming. And the Switch 1 being hacked and emulated cost it dearly as it was a rare current-gen console completely emulated in its day.

Nintendo? The company that will sue at a moment's notice and insist on jailtime for those who run organzied crime rings around hardmods?

That Nintendo? Are you mental? Of course they would be the first. And of course we can replace "would be" with "are."

Run those IV's of Copium in your echo chambers all day long. You will not see the Switch 2 hacked in your lifetime.

Bro I made that comment a month ago. Do you really have nothing better to do on a Friday than read through old posts on your own thread?

You've made over 2500 (!!!) inane comments here and made nearly 50 blog posts. And you're going to criticize me for posting to this thread that, get your facts straight, is not my own?

I retired from IT two decades ago. I don't need your permission to live my life the way I want to. But what a hypocrite for you of all the incels here to call me out for having nothing better to do on a Friday, as if what day of the week it is has meant anything to me for decades now. Maybe get a life yourself and become successful enough to retire while you are still young enough to enjoy it before taking such shots, 🤡?

In tech there is nothing unhacked, eventually it will be hacked a glitch in cpu , an undervolt somewhere it will be done, i ve seen so many unhackable claims failing....

This thread has clearly become a troll thread. Get your facts straight. Nothing is unhackable. You can only make the hacker's job harder. Switch will be hackerd, wether it's in a year, two years, five years, ten years. It will be hacked. And don't say "But it will be hacked when it won't be relevent anymore" because you will only prouve my point.

You 🤡's keep writing that while zero exploits are discovered. Plenty of devices, like iPhones in lockdown mode, have never been hacked. And that's even when nation's want to unlock them and have the full resources of their spy agencies available. Just because some devices of the past have been hacked doesn't mean those in the present or future will; the Switch 2 is unhackable. That's the kryptonite to your copium.

Keep in mind that this loser posted his idiotic video well over a year ago:
Well That Was Fast... Switch 2 Hack
With equally idiotic comments like: "Switch 2 got hacked already 😂... Nintendo absolutely deserved that!"
