This is down right annoying, the write protect slider on my sandisk SD card fell out for the second time. Lucky this time it fell on the seat I was sitting on. The first time it happened it fell into the carpet, that took for ever to find. I'm buying some super glue and gluing all of them. I already have one SD card that has a missing slider. They need to eliminate that problem and quit making SD card like that.

Until the day you accidentally format one of your SD's or overwrite them and blame it for not having the Write protect enabled.
In all seriousness, stop buying shit SD cards and ditch broken ones.
Their cheap as fuck anyway.
Also, they do make SD's without wirte protect switches.
Their called Mini and Micro SD's.

I never tried that. Probably because I thought the tape would make the card to thick, the slider seems to slide back just by being inserted in to the card reader.
I only buy sandisk brand, and since they are one of the originators of the SD card I'd rather not think of them as shit. I also had a microSD to SD adapter and that thing was a piece of crap. I think the super glue will work just fine. I only use SD cards for Wii/3DS stuff and it's all backed up already.
I had this problem also, same sandisk brand. I ended up modifying one of those Sd-to-Usb adapters to override the write protection. little annoying but its only one card
Never had trouble with any of me SD cards.
Hell I even got SD cards of 512 MB which are a good 10 years old.
Also Sandisk ones yes.
Guess I'm either extremely careful with the things or I'm just lucky with them.
That's a good idea too and I have one of those usb card reads, but sometimes the SD card needs to be written to while it's in the Wii SD card slot. I wonder if the Wii will write to a SD card with the slider missing?

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
