Hacking SD card works on PC but not on Wii

Hi all,

I'm dipping my toes into all this for the first time.

I got the DNS/EULA prompt and I'm into HackMii installer v1.2.

However, when I try to prepare my SD card for BootMii, it doesn't recognise there even being an SD card in the slot.

I've never used the SD card slot before now so I doubt it's hardware failure unless factory QA didn't do their job.

The SD card is a Transcend 4GD SDHC Class 6. It's not locked, my PC recognises it and it's formatted to FAT32.

What am I doing wrong?

And, if I can't get it to work, what are my alternatives?

If you're not in the latest firmware, an official system update may help.
