No it's not wiiflow related, the official and the 2.1.0 test build in the opening post are slow.

The modified mod18 has a diifferent code and loads faster. It has other changes you'll see in the Readme. It can be used as a WiiFlow plugin or through Homebrew Channel as well.

Not sure about blade runner crashes. Perhaps Ram issues again?

I tried mod18 from the HBC and it seems that it's not freezing anymore, even after 1h+ of gameplay. Tried it several times.
From Wiiflow the lock-ups are random, but sooner or later they happen.

There is also a showstopping bug, though, but it's already been addressed and fixed in ScummVM (not wii related): when you start Chapter 2, the Tyrell building is missing from your map so you can't go there and advance with the story.

If it's a freeze more than a code dump, perhaps it could be the hdd sleeping for some reason.
In fact, in the very first mods, Fix94 added a function to wake up usb drives. I've removed since I was concentrating on other bugs. Now, I guess it was there for a reason. I'll try put this code back when I have time.

Yes, I should have mentioned that I was getting freezing issues and no code dumps.
The freezes are occurring in other games too:
Might & Magic 4 - Clouds of Xeen
Might & Magic 5 - Darkside of Xeen
Zork - Great Inquisitor

Maybe they happen in other games too, but I just focused on these games.

The strange part however, is that last night I tried booting Scummvm from the HBC, and I was able to play Blade Runner for over an hour without any freeze. Normally, it would freeze
I also tried to stop playing for several minutes until the wiimote disconnected, but after that the game resumed without issues. I will try again to see if I was just lucky

Friends, When using 240p unfiltered "double strike" mode on a crt, there is always some scaling enabled. How should I precisely set the horizontal and vertical underscan to disable scaling at all and get 1:1 pixel mapping?

I've just noticed on the ScummVM boards that the Wii version was updated to 2.1.1

Some really appreciated fixes in this version:
-Blade Runner GPS map fix. The Tyrell building is finally visible at the beginnig of Act 2, this was a showstopper bug!
-Added support for Italian GK2 (hooray!) and other languages.
-Added support for Phantasmagoria 1 censored mode.
-Many Improvements and fixes to various engines.
:yaywii:

Unfortunately this build is very buggy. I tried Blade Runner and the freezing issues are dramatically increased. Now the game will freeze after a couple minutes of gameplay, With the previous version I was getting 1 freeze after an hour of play time
:(

Ok I've submitted the bug on the bug tracker.
I'm not sure if other people are having this issue, there are no reports in the scummvm forums (they say it works perfect for them).

Great. I bet they say it's perfect cause they don't really test like you. I think the problem is more general, not only related to the Bladerunner engine.
Anyway, let's hope someone see this as it's a major bug now.

Ok it appears that the freezing issues were caused by my SD card, or by having ScummVM on SD and Blade Runner on USB.
Now I could play almost the entire 1st chapter without any freeze, but during a dialogue the game crashed with a "code dump".

My bug reporting is needing some confirmation.
The scummvm dev said that he'll try to investigate on that.
I'd like to know if it can be an issue with my setup.
I tried the desktop version, too, but I couldn't seem to reproduce the crashes on my pc.
I don't think it's a general Scummvm issue, cause I played Gabriel Knight 2 for hours without any crashes.
It could be an issue with the italian version, I don't know. or maybe it doesn't like my usb hd.

Anyone tried blade runner?

I have tried the Spanish version of Blade Runner a bit and found no problems using Scummvm mod 18 on the SD card, however I have not played it as much as you. I would recommend putting the game on the SD card and not on the USB.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing. But I'm running out on space on the SD card, putting ALL my scummvm games will require more than 20 Gb.
Maybe I should try with just Blade Runner on SD. I don't know if we can mix different sources for games (sd, usb) within the same scummvm.ini

Edit: nope. I tried with everything on sd card and the same crash happened.

Last edited by Tetsuo Shima,
Maybe I haven't tried it enough, I will try to play it more when I have time.
