Gaming Scribblenauts Hype and News Thread

Yeah probably if i sleep through each day and not come online and focus on assigments due very shortly. In fact the same day scribblenauts gets released.

Also since they can't have copyrighted things in there. I wonder if they will go down the shifty route eg: type in Mario and the game will ask did you mean plumber? or have things same same but different

I think they will leave it out all together. So that nothing is summoned since they don't correspond to the game's wordbank.

They said they won't incoporate proper nouns or registered trademarks. That includes Mario. Nintendo isn't just gonna hand out their character licenses to any game that asks. Odds are if you type in a proper noun/trademark it'll come up as non-existant or will redirect to a simpler word (like Mario would come back to "man").

PEACE DECLARED IN MIDDLE EAST

Today, peace was unexpectedly declared across the Middle East, a shocking development that negotiators on all sides attributed to "that Scribblenauts game". Apparently, one of the first people to get the game typed 'Middle East Peace Plan' into the on-screen keyboard, then showed the resulting peace plan to all of the major players in Middle Eastern politics. The plan was so perfect that everyone immediately destroyed all their weapons and held hands to sing in harmony.

Didn't say they just hand out the likeness to be used to anyone... anyway Mario and Luigi have been in other games before

Sim City - Can build a Mario Statue - SNES & N64
SSX On Tour - Mario, Luigi and Peach are playable characters - GameCube
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes - Model of Mario can be found in the game - GameCube
Taiko Drum Master - Mario level with songs - DS
NBA Street V3 - Mario, Luigi and Peach are playable characters - GameCube

So its not as if its the first time it would have been done....

A game as big as Scribblenauts is set to be, and a DS exclusive, who knows what mutual arrangements there are.. You may type plumber and get Mario therefore it will not be a propper noun.... not saying they will, just they could if they ( and Nintendo ) wanted.

Bowser came in the original Sim City as well.

I think the idea of typing in plumber and having at least a Mario lookalike come up is a good possibility. We'll just have to wait and see wont we?

I wonder how many of the levels can be solved with jetpack , bazooka being your only 2 used items

Do u have SO poor imagination? I think when u use new items, u get starites. But new levels wont unlock if u dont have enough starites. So no... u can use jetpack every puzzle, but u wont get new levels...

I wonder how many levels can be passed with "Exit" or "Level End". Maybe even just "Shingeru Miyamoto" to incoporate stupid level skipping mechanics into the game.

The jetpack probably has a limited amount of fuel. In that case, you'd have to type in "Fuel" to get more fuel and thusly need more items
