I have savedatafiler installed to the emunand, and i want to be able to backup my smash 3ds save to .sav format. How do i know which title is smash bros. I'd assume it would be 017C8 but im not seeing any matches.

EDIT: So i looked a bit into it, and apparently .sav is only with gateway. Is there any other way to restore a .save?

Go to 3dsdb.com, search for smash bros, look at the title ID for your region (particularly the last few letters/numbers).

Alternatively, get K's Save Manager and enjoy.

I've had the title id, it's 000400000017C800, and that's why i'd assume it's be 017C8. I usually use JK but i specifically need it to be .sav.

Ah I missed that. I don't know, but is there any particular reason you need it to be .sav format? I have a gateway so I can dump it for you if you send me a dump made with SDF or JK, but I'd have to install the game first, and you wouldn't have a way to restore it yourself.

well it's more of dumping and restoring. I've had to reset my smash 3ds save for various reasons (eshop version corrupts easily) and i want to get a full save with everything unlocked so i wont have to do it all over again. The only save file i could find was in .sav format. If you want to help, you can install the save and use JK to back it up and pm it to me. Not sure if you can.

Is your Smash Bros. USA region? If it is I can do it.

The title ID you mentioned (000400000017C800) belongs to The Legend of Legacy EUR according to 3DSdb btw.

1: US
2:No idea how the hell that happened, but it's a legit eshop smash so savedatafiler probably wouldnt work.

Both my installed (cia) and cartridge Title ID is 00040000000EDF00. Either way, run JK's Save Manager and dump the save. You should get a account_data.bin and system_data.bin. Send me the whole folder (PM me if you want) and I'll see if it works on my end. If it does I'll dump the .sav and send it to you.

Alternatively, you can send me the complete .sav you have and I can convert it to SDF and JK format. Then you can keep a copy of it on your PC and restore it with SDF or JK whenever your eShop SSB save gets corrupted.

.....alright. I see i didn't explain correctly......... it's sort of the opposite. Can you install the .sav and output the jk .bin format? I only wanted to backup not only as a test, but just in case i needed to restore. I mainly need jk file format from the .sav. Sorry.

I replied to your PM, the save appears corrupted on my cart (probably too old or cos it says it is only for "online patched game"). I can send you my personal cartridge save, haven't used it since I got the cia version about a year ago. Has all characters, stages, and about 3 pages of the challenges done. You may need all the DLC to get it to work though..

Why don't you use a save editor though?

nah, mostly aiming for the customs

last time i used the editor and the savedata backup 3dsx, it corrupted my game..... Heard it happens with the eshop version.
Just keep multiple copies of your savedata so you always have a backup. I use it on the eShop version and it never corrupted.
