I want this game so bad but I can't afford $75 (AUD). Anyone know where the cheapest place to purchase this is in Aus? I know of amazon but I don't have access to a credit card

GAME have it for $59 as an online-only price, but it's currently sold out.
I'm not sure what payment methods they accept either.

Edit: Just found another place with really low prices!
http://www.ozgameshop.com/3ds-games
They are out of stock on Samurai Warriors too though.
At least they accept PayPal though!

And another one!

Seems they are out of stock of Samurai Warriors too though. Expected to ship within 7-10 days.
They accept PayPal too!

Man, seeing all these low prices kind of makes me regret just buying it at JB without even looking for a better price, but then again, these ones are sold out and I'm happy to actually have the game here now to play.
I think I'll do a bit of looking around before I buy my next game though ozgameshop's prices are almost half what you'd pay elsewhere!

Edit once more:
Slightly off topic. I found another cheap online shop but this one doesn't have SWC.
It does have a few other 3DS games quite cheaply though, so I'll put it here for easy reference. Maybe they'll add it to their list soon.

They also accept PayPal.

The gameplay seems a bit confusing to me at first, but like I said this is my first warriors game, and I have only played it for maybe 20 minutes. Its a bit hectic with the game giving you missions and telling me what I need to do while I am fighting off enemies. It seems a bit hard to keep it straight, but I'm sure this will be better once I am more familiar with the game.

Yeah, the Warriors games do, surprisingly, have a learning curve. Sure, in practice, it seems all you're doing is mashing a button or two, but you do have to do certain things in a certain order, as well as race your opponent in capturing bases. Folks either get these games or they don't, as evidenced by media reviews.

This will probably be the game I pick up as my first 3DS title. I know it probably does little with the 3D outside of enhancing the visuals and depth perception, but if I'm gonna pay $40, I might as well go with something I know I'll play over and over again when the mood strikes.

Yo thanks for posting that dude. I actually just went into JB and they had them relabelled at 59 so I was able to get it. So stoked to finally play a proper 3DS game when I get home from work

I picked this up earlier because I need a long lasting game for my 3DS. I get the feeling I'll have finished Pilotwings within a week and Ridge Racer is better suited to short bursts so the track repetition doesn't bug me so much. Granted, I've put my ability to pay my bills this month in question as a result, but frankly I don't care at this point. I needed something to counter the depression of knowing that the one girl that got away was in all probability 'the one' and that it's never gonna happen so I'll just have to settle for second best. Cutting through a near endless supply of peons with a sword long enough to make Sephiroth piss his pants with envy tends to do the trick quite nicely.

it took me some time to get things. i understand how to play now but i do not understand the story at all. Its japanese voice acting but i think in this case ill understand easier if they spoke in english. I can still read it but they say alot of things in the text with a lot of japanese names. so right now im just playing with no idea what the storyline is.

I finally got the game on thursday, and I didn't really know what to do in the first stage. Damn text rolls damn fast, too fast for me to read, especially if my mom is ranting about stupid things while I try to concentrate. xD

I pretty much got it during the second stage, and I really love the gameplay. If you really know what to do and if you do it tactical then it is a lot of fun.

I'm so glad I got this game. I've never played anything compared to this one. Too bad there's no wi-fi support.

I've played about six and a half hours of it now and still loving it.
The difficulty is ramping up pretty quickly now. I've just finished Part 1 but the last few battles I've been failing a lot of the missions. The AI allies just don't follow instructions well enough.

Starting to learn a bit about Weapon Upgrading.
Seems that the maximum level of a weapon is 10 and once you reach that you can't upgrade it any more.
Still, you can use your level 10 weapons to upgrade other weapons and they add +5 or +6 to each stat, so with patience you can build some serious stats.

So i was thinking of getting a 3DS. This game was on top of my list of release titles, so I have a few questions.
First, is the game worth the price?
Second, how long is the single player story mode of this game?
and last, will there be a online Multiplayer, or just single player?

Picked this up yesterday and I have to say it's pretty awesome. Took me a while to see it as a more of a strategy game than a game with just an okay combat system, but it is impressive.
My only gripe is with the difficulty settings. 'Normal' and 'Easy' don't really present a challenge, and 'Hard' is much the same way until you have to fight a boss (or miniboss), at which point you get your butt kicked seemingly out of nowhere. The attacks come at you without any space to block in-between and to me, that seems a little 'not fluid'. Losing anywhere between half to three quarters of your health with no ability to prevent it from happening, and often no nearby health-ups, is kind of irritating after you've spent half an hour cutting through opposing armies.
That shouldn't really discourage you from buying the game though, as levelling up and acquiring new weapons counters this. It's all about development and it's a nice, long, immersive title that you can sit and enjoy.
I'm quite shocked at how hard it is to find this game compared to other 3DS titles. I'm not saying it's exactly difficult, but for example: there are 10 items for 'Samurai Warriors: Chronicles' on eBay UK right now compared to the 52 for 'Street Fighter 3DS' and 24 for 'Rayman 3DS'. Similarly, Amazon UK themselves don't stock the game ('Startup Media' do) and when I went in to buy it from Blockbuster yesterday, there were only three there on the bottom shelf.
The 'expert gamers' that served me were talking to one another about how the company that made the game had their buildings vandalised and graffitied with 'you make shit games'. I felt like raging at them. The way in which they said it came across as being indirectly aimed at me. No doubt they're the '360 hardc0re gam3r Call of Duty' kings that know everything about games (and I'm not trying to offend 360 owners here, I want one myself).

1. Long, very long. I couldn't say exactly how many hours but there's plenty of stuff to do and 'sub-missions' in stages.
2. Pretty sure there's no online multiplayer.

Toys r us still had the buy one get second game half price deal, today's the last day for it. I picked this up has one of my games. I heard rumors it's the first two samurai warrior games remade into one larger game. Have not actually popped the game in yet.

To the how long Samurai Warriors is: Warrior games are as long as you make it out to be.
You can be a very, very short game if you are just doing all the main stuff (fighting officers) but if you want it to be a long game, you can be a hero and make sure nobody is killed, do all the little missions inside the main missions, kill everyone, take camps etc.

Hopefully I'll be able to pick this game up next week and make my 3DS worth having. (I regret getting Monkey Ball, at the time I was buying it, it was the only game that sounded okay)

So i've played a couple of hours of this. So far I can't comment on the 3D cause it doesn't work for me. The graphics are smooth and impressive though. The gameplay is predictably tiresome after a while and i'm already thinking about reselling it. The lack of online play or just any other features other than the story mode is fairly disappointing.

Oh yeah, how do you get streetpass to work? I go to network options and it's greyed out. It won't let me access it to turn it on and the instruction manual doesn't indicate why.

So I'm hearing that this game is actually satisfying players, but there is no WiFi multiplayer. Well, Okamiden doesnt have that either, and it rules balls, so this is the game ima gonna get when I'll pick up my 3DS. Tnx for the help guys

I take it you haven't played a Warriors game before? They all have pretty much the same gameplay. It's a formula that some people (such as myself) love, but others get bored of it very quickly.
As to other modes, I read in the manual something about Gaiden mode for which extra levels are downloaded via SpotPass. I suspect that it gets unlocked once you've cleared story mode.

You need to have enough characters unlocked to form a 4 person team before streetpass becomes available.
You also need to have streetpass turned on in the 3DS itself too.

It's satisfying some players anyway.
I'm loving it, but it sounds like Dylan isn't too impressed.

It's a little bit of a shame that it doesn't have any multiplayer. WiFi or Local, since Warriors games are generally a lot of fun to play in co-op with a friend.
Doesn't really bother me though. I've sunk hundreds of hours into other Warriors games and only a tiny fraction of those have been in multiplayer.

Here's a review from Gamespot.

I kinda stopped caring about critic reviews for Dynasty/Samurai Warriors though since it's a love it or hate it thing, and most critics hate it. It's mindless hacking and slashing but there's a lot of it to do in pretty much any game, and it's one of the reasons I really like the series.

As for the 3DS version though, it's probably the strongest draw for the system right now for me, but I don't think I'll pick up a system for it at the moment. I've got a PSP with a huge library of Dynasty/Samurai Warriors games I haven't touched, I think I'll be set for a while.

I actually have played Dynasty Warriors before and liked it but this just didn't really translate so well for me. I thought it was cool at first but I could instantly see myself switching back to playing pokemon etc.
