Hi!
Data Managment works in RXmode?
Can i organize my BigBlueMenu installed CIAs with SETTINGS/DATA MANAGMENT in RXmode?
THX for answers.

Hmm. I'm no expert, but is it at all possible to incorporate network CIA installation into rxTools, PBT/Palantine style? If so, that could very well make this the end-all-and-be-all tool, and the Gateway killer for anyone with a <=9.2 SysNAND.

Edit: Well, okay, -almost- Gateway killer. Still need something to create a good EmuNAND in the first place.

YOU CAN use this with Gateway though. Both rxTools and GW use the same emunand format.

- Boot Gateway Sysnand mode, install any DSiware and GBA titles you want to play.
- Install them again on emunand.
- Boot rxTools and play them.

Easy and simple. I did and can confirm it works. You have to install them on sysnand and emunand at the same time as I mentioned though.
This is currently the best way to do it if you have a gateway?
Also, another question: If you install DSiware and GBA cias using this method (sysnand and emunand), you launch them through emunand via rxTools, correct? Doing this does not affect MSET? In other words, I do not have to reinstall MSET again after running DSiware and GBA games through rxtools? Forgive me, this has probably been answered, but I can't find the answer

This is the only method to do it outside of Pasta, you'd have to install them both, GW or not. Gateway makes it easier to install stuff to sysnand however, so it's better with it.

Also, for MSET. I don't use it, but I can't see why it'd affect it? You're running the games on emunand after all, not sysnand.

Great, that is what I was leaning towards. In fact, I'll try asap and see, but you're probably right on the money

Edit: so Four Swords from the eshop works. Am I suppose to install on NAND or SD?

Edit 2: Ohhhhhhhhh, I need the patched AGB Firm don't I xD

So, I have a DSTwo and a 3DS with 9.0.x firmware - can I backup games, install games on the 3ds rather having to insert seperate cartidges or run backups?

Edit- Alternatively, is there a way for me to run imported games yet?

You lose the mset exploit everytime you run a DSiware game. GBA games don't affect it.

You can launch games from other regions using any version of DevMenu. Just don't try to get back to the home menu or the 3DS will crash.
You have to close the game first with the power button and then hit Home.

Alright thanks, I just realized that. So GBA games are no problem..

I just have some final questions that I can't seem to find the answers through using the search function:
1. You must install the patched AGB Firm in emunand (not sysnand?) to get custom VC Games working?
2. VC games must be the same region as your 3DS?
3. VC games (GBA, NES) are installed to which: SD or NAND in both sysnand and emunand?
Thanks in advance, sorry if the answers are obvious and I just can't see them lol

1.Whatever you run them on I believe, or both to be safe.
2.You can inject out of region games
3.SD, though nand is possible, go with SD

Yeah. Currently the "free" method of getting DevMenu installed is to use Gateway launcher to backup your sysnand, then use the downgrade feature (these do not require a gateway card) to downgrade to 4.x. Then get PBT-CFW and use it to install DevMenu using the network install stuff to send a CIA over the network to install. Then use gateway menu to format new emunand using your current sysnand. This will transfer your DevMenu to emunand. Then you can restore your sysnand backup. Boot up rxMode, go to system settings (make sure it's emunand by checking the version text first), then using System Update. It will update emunand to 9.8 and you'll have DevMenu. From which you can install CIAs and do what ever you like. :D

This is what I did, I downgraded from 9.2 to 4.5 installed PBT and DevMenu. I booted Gateway Menu and formatted EmuNAND, but I am stuck with the part about restoring sysnand backup, how do I restore my backed up 9.2 NAND into my 3DS?

Boot the gateway menu again, highlight the "backup NAND" option, then hold dpad UP i think and press A, it should ask if you want to restore your NAND.bin

Thank you. I hope the AGB patch has no effect on MSET
The AGB patch will not affect MSET. only DSI/DS (which might be fine to run in emunand, someone correct me if I'm wrong)

On another note, has anyone tried hacking smash for 3ds yet? We should have the ability to file swap and do custom content now, right?

Unfortunately we have to reinstall the mset exploit after running DSiware on emunand, as said by @piratesephiroth , but I can confirm.

On another note, I installed the patched AGB on both nands to finally get a result. It finally showed the intro screen, but it just black screened after that lol. Maybe it really isn't region free? :/

Edit: maybe it's the rom, I can still press the home button on the black screen
Edit 2: Yup, bad rom. Another rom works completely, but I had to install the patched AGB firm on both nands.
