Basically, it allows you to cold boot into a CFW or any other supported payload as fast as the system boots up normally, with the addition of being able to ditch emuNAND (it's completely useless), and update to 10.7.

The terms redNAND and emuNAND are interchangeable for the purposes of completing the guide.
