According to a report from the japanese newspaper Nikkei, Nintendo is releasing WiiFit Plus and a new Mario game for the Wii, later this year.

Nikkei mentions that WiiFit Plus will have online features, allowing users to share data and compete with each other. Also, the new game would have more accurate measurements than it's predecessor.

About the Mario title, there are no details about it, only that it's for the Wii and it's coming by the end of the year.

Nikkei has been a reliable source in the past, if you don't remember, it was were the DSi was first unveiled. WiiFit Plus already leaked some days ago, with Nintendo trademarking the name and a logo popping up on the Internet, no big surprises here.. about Mario.. let's wait until Tuesday.

Save the Wii? Save the DS.*

The DS has so many crappy games out at the moment, it needs to rise up.

Hopefully it's either a Mario Galaxy for DS, or Paper Mario DS.

EDIT: Or you know what? It's probably just going to be a special DSi only game.

Not really. The DS already has a huge amount of games to play, as well as the upcoming titles, like Knights in the Nightmare and Devil Survivor.

Hopefully the new Mario game will be good and not some gimmick.

And it seems like the new Wii Fit will be getting a new balance board as well (for the more accurate measurements).

Then what exactly are the DS games coming out?

Let's see.. Dragon Quest IX, Kingdom Hearts, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Scriblenauts, WarioWare Myself, Blood of Bahamut, The Legendary Starfy, Mario & Luigi RPG 3, Gyakuten Kenji,... is that enough?

I remember some rumors about it being sold as a bundle with the balance board and a standalone version, so.. if those are true, I don't think it will require a new board. Maybe it will use Motion Plus for that somehow..

Well that's good and all if you're an RPG fanatic....

There are people out there that don't like those games you know.

If none of those games can supposedly "save" the DS (not that it even needs saving), then one single Mario game sure as hell isnt going to make much of a difference worth giving a damn for. >_>

Nevertheless, a new Mario for the Wii will be truely amazing. Along with the other titles announced so far (Trauma Team, The Grinder, Fragile, and Arc Rise Fantasia, just to name a few), the Wii is definitely heading towards a great comeback!

Save the Wii?
The Wii lacks good Excluseives
I mean SMG, SSBB, LoZ:TP, Punch-Out!!, Madworld, and No More Heroes are awesome but the Rest is just shovelware shit.
Little Kings Story, Metroid Prime 3, Zack and Wiki, Boom Blox, de Blob, Super Paper Mario, Anno, House of the Dead: Overkill, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom plus a ton of great WiiWare games are shovelware?

The future looks great too, ready for another list?

Overlord: Dark Legend, The Grinder, Cursed Mountain, Fragile, Monster Hunter 3, Dead Space Extraction, Spybots, Conduit, Arc Rise Fantasia, Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers and a ton of stuff I have not even mentioned.

The Wii doesn't need saving, it just needs people to actually buy the games. I wish ignorant people wouldn't post sometimes I really do.

On topic:
Kinda too early for a new Mario title for the Wii, I'll be worried that Nintendo would be rushing into it. If its DS then great.

Big chance it is Mario Party 9.
8 wasn't that good at all and the Wii is used as a minigame console a lot.
Let's hope they don't do it

I got the Google Pixel Pro buds, they're good enough for when I need portable audio. And some really cheap IEMs that Dankpods recommends, I think the KZ ZSN Pro

I'd stick with cheapo Chinese $10 ones quality is actually becoming on pair with name brand since name Brand usually quads the price up anyway loose one bud that's another $200

My Pixel Pro buds shit the bed a month or two ago. My wireless charger (which they do support Qi charging) absolutely COOKED them. Caused some problem that caused the case to heat up to 180F+
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
They were like 9 months out of warranty but I hit up Google support anyway and told them how hot they were getting and they replaced them with new ones because they wanted these for failure analysis lol

    lol wireless charging
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why I can't bring myself to even spend $100 on wireless earbuds

I think it's a cool idea but damn
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Apparently the case has a problem with >15W wireless chargers. Google design fault, that one.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I could live with wireless charging if the damn standard case doesn't block connection

    how is wireless charging possible?

    Copper conducting electricity or something
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@Xdqwerty, power through a coil of wire causes an electromagnetic field to be generated. Another coil of wire can be set up to harness the power from that electromagnetic field and turn it into usable energy for charging a device
