Recently I've been playing Mario Kart DS a lot. I usually play with my buddies using local multiplayer off of R4 cards. We play multiplayer a lot. I recently got my hand on a few unnoficial DS rumble paks for cheap, and I also got a japanese copy of WarioWare Twisted. I know that MKDS utilizes the GBA slot, so I don't think this is impossible to add, and I have seen a video of the knob thingy from that obscure japanese game being used as a steering wheel, and I have also seen someone use gyro controls as steering in MKDS with some patches.
If someone made a patch that would add rumble functionality to Mario Kart DS, it would be awesome. There are a lot of possibilities. Engine revving, driving offroad, going on boost pads, getting items, using items, getting hit by something, falling and landing somewhere, colliding with someone or with a wall, these actions and many more could all utilize the rumble really well. I already tried modifying the code, but I had no idea what I was doing cause I'm not a coder or anything like that, and I barely understood a single thing in there.
I know that barely any games utilize the rumble pak, and that not many people have it, and this post might go unnoticed because of that, but I'm still hopeful that someone makes a patch so that I could play Mario Kart DS local multiplayer with my friends, and with rumble functionality.
