Hacking Roms crashing on EZ-Flash IV

Hi all,

Recently got myself an EZ Flash 4 for my GBA. Having a problem with nearly all the ROMs crashing after about 5 mins of play. No error message, the game boy just freezes. For example on castlevania as soon as i press start or select it freezes.

I'm using a micro SD to mini SD adapter as couldn't find a mini SD card anywhere! Could this be the problem? or could it be dodgy roms?

Also using the 1.74 firmware.

Any help would be appreciated!

Firstly, GBA details? Type, Model Number, Age, Condition etc? (Beware those cheap Brand New GBAs on ebay as realistic knockoffs with compatibility issues exist)
Secondly, I've never encountered problems with adapters on the various devices I've used over the years, but some do warn that adapters might cause problems.
Thirdly, GBA flash carts don't fit the category of " various devices I've used over the years" but I'll help best I can. Hopefully someone with better knowledge than me will join the discussion.
