i tried this and succefully installed everything, but when i put a legally owned backup in the Wii the disc channel says "Unable To Read Disc" please help !!!!!

Did you rip/dump the backup yourself? I think most of the images available via bodies of water filled with pirates and places like that have been "scrubbed" or decrypted or patched in some way that stop it from working with RiskWii, even though they would normally boot with the gamma loader. A buddy of mine downloaded a few of the images, burned them properly and verified them, and is getting the same message as you, I'm almost positive they were decrypted.

As far as my personal experience goes. A dump of TVC that I made myself, then patched to USA and Brickbreaker, works great with RiskWii, shows and boots from the Disc Channel.

Yes!!! 6 tested 5 work.

Edit: The one that never I could never get in color.
Green in Gamma and B&W in Softchip, set to Disc Region but playable.
Shows a black screen in the Disc Channel.

My backup launcher doesn't seem to be working properly since I installed RiskWii. When I get home from work, I'm going to uninstall the channel and the CIOS 7 and reinstall, as apparently I will still need it for certain PAL games that don't have a NTSC output mode. Anyone else have this issue with the Boot Channel? Was it affected by the IOS downgrade I did at the beginning of the RiskWii install?

Ok for anyone having trouble getting this to load region free from disc channel.
1. Must be a 1:1 copy. no need to patch or decrypt.
2. You must use the included anyregion changer. Don't think your generic version you already have is good enough. This is one of the 2 CRUCIAL steps to have this work. Make sure you tell it yes to adding the starfall hacks to the system menu, as this is where the twiizers working region free patch is installed.
3. You do not have to have a default 3.2 system menu before you do this. The included anyregion changer downloads the 3.2 system menu from nintendo and then patches it.
4. After using the included anyregion changer you MUST install cioscorp even if you already had it. do all of the cios's not just 30.
5. Games that cannot be forced to your region via the loaders will either come up black and white,flickering, or not at all. If your tv supports both pal and ntsc you should have all games that append to rule 1 working.
6. Brickblocking is not nesecary as preloader skips the disc updates.
7. Region patching is not necessary, It loads all regions from the disc channel now. If the game didn't work with region forcing under gamma, then region patching it will not help you to make it run in your regions video mode.
8. If your out of region games are not loading then odds are you missed a step, used the wrong anyregion changer, used preloader hacks that were not in the package which are conflicting, or are using a disc that was decrypted.
9. If you already had preloader make sure to remove the hacks from nand before doing this, otherwise they will remain in effect after re-installing preloader and cause issues.

Don't be suprised at the number of your burns that were decrypted if you've been around since beta... Turns out half of my collection was decrypted, including games that i could have sworn were burnt as 1:1 copies, after checking the discs in the computer it turned out they really were decrypted.

This does work. Take your time and make sure to follow all of the steps. IF you are still having issues after that post back and we'll do out best to find your problem. (i now have modded 8 wiis with this, and my own wii's have had this run on them over 5 times testing using it from 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, already modded and as close to factory as possible)

Goku just run anyregion changer again and set it to usa/ntsc and then re-install the system menu from there.

To anyone having issues with gamma after doing this, Remember that the rebooter functions do not work under preloader, and install wanin's cios7 to 249 if its not rebooter related.

I have a problem. Before installing this, I could load gecko OS and reboot with hooks to be able to move the disk channel. I now want to move it back to the original spot but after installing this it gives the the black screen with the code dump and I have to reset the Wii. Is there any way to do this, maybe a code for the hacks.ini or a way around this?

i just would like to know for future reference if for some reason i need to unistall this what would i do? just use wad manager to unistall the wads? or aint it that simple? many thanks

Well thats fine, but is there one? Where do I find hacks.ini hacks?

DO NOT EVER uninstall the IOS wads as you will totaly brick. To restore your wii from this simply update to 3.3 or 3.4, however doing so will require you to re-enable your trucha bug
Cheating.... Check the preloader thread the hack is in there somewhere. I know because i was using it at one point.

ok after reading completly this thread and all your up's and down's I went for it, but didn't do the CIOScorp part hence I already done that last week, so first didn't recognize anything, and got like......huh..? wtf..? so I just reinstalled cIOS30 and that was it, I saw the AnyRC when it install something about the Korean Disc in place 1-30, and this doesn't ringed any bell since there is nothing on 1-30, but then I used menuloader and boot in IOS249 and that was it, so I just reinstall cIOS30 and all is OK now.....so I'm going to start checking my games to see wich ones aren't supported.



Intructions for people already with CIOScorp pack installed:

1.Run the ARC in this pack
2.Only install the Starfall's kind hacks (not the korean disc support)
3.Re-install cIOS30 from CIOScorp Pack
4.Re-Install PreLoader and enable the hacks you want


or wait for my 2nd signature to just install the sysmenu.wad...!!!

When you say Re-install Preloader, does that mean uninstall it first? or just install it over the preexisting preloader?

Also whats this I hear about people not being able to play games that worked before?

Am I safe from this?

Well, I installed and am very pleased with it but my Wii Music NTSC goes black screen on my PAL Wii.... and I changed to MPAL when I got to the Anyregion bit (as advised in an earlier post)
The game loads fine through Gamma though and as its the only out of region title I have I'm not that bothered. Just posted this for info really. I have a PAL/NTSC TV and I'm using component output from the Wii.
