EDIT - FORMAT FIXED BOTH WII'S FOR ANYONE WHO CHANGED REGION TO MPAL - NOTHING ELSE WORKED FOR ME!!!!!!!

very, very good work guys, but if the speed of reading backup does not change i think ill still wait for CSM

I can't recall csm will change the drive's firmware aswell. That's the firmware which determines the read speed.
DVD = 3x
WOD = 6x

There's nothing an altered sysmenu or ios can do about that.

yes, i know...
but to do such a major change i prefer to do it with csm
i belive it's safer and fors will send updates too
it's just my opinion

To change the video mode from MPal back to NTSC using anyregion changer the button presses are as follows: First screen(info about program) A; Second screen(disclaimer about semi-brick) 1; Third screen(options screen, where you want to be) Down, Down, Down, Right, Down, Down, Down, Down, A. A selects the save option. To reboot from that screen, continue: Down, Down, Down, Down, A. If all goes well, the video mode should be back on NTSC. I'll up a screen shot for you in a moment.

Main thing is that the old MIOS will let you use Gamecube Action Replay and Freeloader discs that were blocked in the newer updates.

I took the plunge this morning, before I came to work. My Wii only had the boot channel stuff, no CIOScorp, no Starfall, no Preloader.
All installs mostly went according to guide. My Wii has an issue, it has always had it, must be an issue with the wireless router, where the first time you try and download something, it fails right away, then you try again, and it works. This happened twice during the installs, I just restarted whatever I had been doing, and it would download and work fine. Also, my first try with the IOS downgrader failed, but just like the guide advised, I tried again and it worked no probelm.

My TvC backup, patched to USA and brickbreaker, works fine. Shows up in the disc channel, and runs from it.

HBC is also running fine.

Thanks for this it is very cool. I can test stuff later, and give more details, once I get home from work.

Now that i have formatted it - original zelda disc shows in disc chanell and then wont load says an error has occured. Im gong to try and borrow a zelda disc to confirm if it is the disc or not as it only has minimal scratches.


EDIT - Just changed video region back to pal on my one working wii from ntsc and zelda works great. I need something that can alter the video mode as formating it does not seem to have fixed it.

Nope. Formatting won't remove the cIOS files and Starfall. You'll have to reinstall the original IOSes and system menu (or run starfall again to remove the hacks).

I know this shouldn't be posted in here or anywhere for that matter, just curious to it been removed.

This works perfect. MOHH2 Would not connect to the Wiimote even patch to 249 with Aquilino channel patch or gamma for me.Tried it just now with Riiskimod flawless.

ok this is what ive done so far all ready had preloader and cioscorp installed got as far as reigon changer and then this

switched to mpal = black and white screen i go nutz (thank god not a brick)
i checked hbc get pal jumping screen load any reigon changer black screen
formatted my zelda wants to update i let it works fine put tp hack on an sd card and now im watchen utube lol

So just because I'm paranoid, I would like to clarify how this is working. It sure sounds like we are getting close to the "Holy Grail".

1. This allows backups (using cIOS249) through the Disc Channel
2. This still allows retail games to be started through the Disc Channel
3. This can brick things, but if you do it right, it's working well for people
4. I have SM 3.3 (I haven't updated to 3.4) and this should work
5. There is a way to uninstall it if I'm so inclined?

Sorry for asking for a spoon but can someone point me in the right direction to install. I already have Big Moe's v3 package installed and not quite sure where to start with this.

you must be on 3.2 to use this as thats the version of the sys menu it patches. In fact if you follow the instructions you will end up on 3.2
