I was working on swapping out the shells of my sister's Joy-Cons for her birthday when I hit snag with the right one.
The right Joy-Con refuses to charge or connect wirelessly. When railed onto my console (and her's), the battery displays at red, but the Joy-Con functions completely normally. However, as soon as I remove it, it stops working. The LEDs on the side don't flash at all, and I can't connect it wirelessly to my console. I assumed that something happened to the battery (like perhaps the battery is dead and won't charge), but I've tried everything I can think of including swapping out the batteries and rails, which did nothing. In the Controllers menu, an empty battery with a red sliver appears, and I can't get it to display anything else. The same thing displays when I connect a Joy-Con with no battery attached. I'm extremely confused too because the left Joy-Con that I shell-swapped works flawlessly, even when connected wirelessly.
The only thing that I can think of that might be malfunctioning is the motherboard, but that should make it so that the Joy-Con is completely dead, right? Or perhaps I somehow screwed up the battery connector, so it's not detecting the battery. I feel like I'm going crazy, testing everything I can think of to make this work. Someone, please help.
