'been playing some Akumajou Dracula X with Mednafen PCE Fast. Just had to put the proper bios in the proper folder but it works like a charm. This intro spoken in german, perfect sound, perfect speed. You guys are great, I'd like to congratulate you again !

There is a a translation patch if you want it in English for some reason :P

Update : I got FF7 to work with Mednafen-PSX (was just a matter of proper bios) but it's stuck at around 6 fps. Any idea on how to improve that through settings or maybe the Wii U (with Interpreter) can't do better than that ?

Nope, for now, there's no way at all. Wait for a dynarec core, (if people ever make one) we don't know if/when we'll ever get one.

Ok, thanks. That is weird because even the vWii does better with Interpreter (only battles are really slow but you can get an average of 25-30 fps I guess)

The emulator was likely optimized for the wii (even in interpreter). The emulator for retroarch psx isn't optimized for the wii u at all.

And to be honest, I don't see it being done, like ever, due to lack of interest, personally I think it was kind of trivial to have it included, IMHO.

thx bro. i'm lookin at the config now all i see is

audio_rate_control = "true"
input_libretro_device_p1 = "0"

In controls change all the buttons and save to the game, not core, in the pc look for the file with the name of the game, only will appear the buttons if changed before saving.

Is there any way to contribute to it actually ? I like very much what Retroarch is doing but this part is a bit obscure, who is actually working on the Wii U builds, are they on this thread ?
