What do you mean the main zip? There's like, ten variations of each arcade ROM, I need to know the specific name of the ROM as I use a playlist.

There's a 2 Player romset for The Simpsons which lets you choose the character, instead of the original 4 Player ROM which sets your character depending on the controller input/number you have.
Maybe go for that one?

I looked in that MAME Playlist you sent (I think it was you? ) and all I saw was "Simpsons - 4 Player" or something? *Sigh*

Sorry yes, the playlist title is "The Simpsons (4 Players)" Also the Playlist file I sent you is fine since it works perfectly for me.

*Throws up arms in defeat* Then I don't know what to do It worked for me in the past, using the same controller settings, setting the no. of players to 1. I'm the only one to have this issue, I may as well just forget about it.

That's what I did too, controller is set to 1 player, no other players, so I don't see how this can be issue.

That's what my current config is set to, max users is set to 1, not 2, 3, etc, but only one. I've always set it to that (as it screws up games like Super Mario All-stars to where it won't let me play one player mode). Why RA can't make that a default setting is beyond me.

If I have to record a video to show the config, I will.

Well mine is actually set to 5 lol but I though it may help your situation. Try to delete your config then?

There's a mame config file that is generated in roms too (IIRC) and savefiles (states?), it's recomended delete that too.

Having to set up all the specific ROM save file paths, video settings, default browser location is a pain in the ass. I hope I don't have to delete it. Things are super stable on my end. I don't like the default settings for the paths, video, menu, assets, etc paths.

Try deleting mame local config file first, I'm sure the problem is there. Don't kill your retroarch.cfg (yeah it's a pain having to re-configure all over again)

Could be two:
-sd:/retroarch/config/mame2003
-sd:/retroarch/cores/savefiles/mame2003/cfg

Just delete the whole folder, if you have important cfg files, then just delete simpsons.cfg

*mame2003 is just example, in case you are using mame2000

I have the same problem if load Retroarch from the HBL Channel. As a workaround, install the Retroarch Channel.

My workaround is using the "apps/retroarch" folder from 1.6.3 which loads up fine. Don't really get why you would install the Retroarch Channel at this point when you still have to run CFW before starting it?

I have CFW and assumed you had it too, my mistake
