Hey all, I'm having issues with N64 ROMS crashing my Switch. I can load NES, SNES, PSX, GBA, etc all with no issues but as soon as I try to load any N64 games, both .n64 files and .zip as archives, my Switch goes to a black screen and then eventually I get an Atmosphere crash screen and have to reboot. I'm currently on firmware 6.1.0 with Atmosphere 8.0 running the latest nightly of Retroarch (also happened on latest stable) with a 64GB FAT32 32k cluster formatted SD card. Am I on too high of a base firmware, should I be using a different CFW, is it something else I'm missing? Thanks for any help!

You need to use the Retroarch NSP for N64 games to work as that allows full memory usage, or something like that.. Haven't tried it myself, but plan on doing it some time today.

Aw, I've been comforted with m4xw's reassurance that it's relatively safe to OC, only to see that blasted warning message, 'extended overclocking can damage the switch'...

Update: Chrono Cross' title screen is crackle free now. YES! Only had to OC it one higher than stock speed too.

WHAT, where did you see that message?

Psx eboot that I tested and that doesn't work.
Final doom/ gunner's heaven/ metal gear solid PAL (euro) / rayman/ wipeout/ wipeout 2 2097/ "wipeout3/tomb raider 1 compilation with a game demo
EDIT
problem solved
Core information > missing bios usa? Eur??? Jap????
I check nx shell my bios? they are well present....
Decide to move my bios folder to the root of the sd card, only one folder, restart core pcsx rearmed, core > information > bios present. Usa, eur, japan
So don't put your resources in too many sub-folders.
Metal gear work with sound eboot .pbp ( eur/ pal 50 hz )
Fantastic my gunner's heaven ( jap 60 hz) also works perfectly cool.
Does this also fix Final Doom? :O

It's funny that you ask this question because it's the first game I tested after gunner's heaven, and it crashes before menu, then once launched I re i tried rayman... Who knows, you have to dream, well, it crashes too.
:rofl2:
Edit

But my God, it's wonderful to see this game ( gunner's heaven), with my little secret shader, and my little magic overlay preset, I almost feel like I'm playing on a sony pvm, uh not far.... Yeah, not far from a sony aperture size crt.

So I captured a 1080p 60 video with a small fps counter in the top left corner, just to see how fluid it is, without jerks, and a look better than a sony psx mini that costs $100, with a rotten look on hdmi.... Meditate...
Especially since the psx mini is the open source pcsx rearmed emulator.... Look for the error here.
And to finish off on a high note, a small run-ahead to reduce latency > on > number of frames to run ahead > 2
And there you have the response time of the original psx hardware

RETROARCH compiles the best emulators available in the world, it Exceeds all emus paying on android.... Glad also that guys are working on dynarec, benefit to the psx pcsx rearmed and also the n64...
Guys, I love you guys.

Excuse me guys. What do you mean when you say that a sd is "corrupted because of exfat format"?
Do you mean data loss or physical damage?
My 250gb sd is formated in exfat and never have had any issue but i'm afraid it could be damage because the file system.
I'm using sx os emunand i think that might be worse.

If you use homebrew, ex retroarch, use fat format 32 ( cluster 32 ko) otherwise? In exfat you'll have problems sooner or later.

Has anyone found a solution yet why the enhanced resolution option in the psx option menu doesn't work
